State Road 824 (SR 824), locally known as Pembroke Road, is a east–west highway and major commuter route in southern Broward County, Florida. Its western terminus is an intersection with South University Drive ( SR 817), on the boundary between Miramar and Pembroke Pines and adjacent to North Perry Airport; its eastern terminus is an intersection with South Federal Highway (US 1/ SR 5) on the boundary between Hollywood and Hallandale Beach at the northeastern end of the Hollywood Dog Track. Florida's Turnpike, designated as unsigned State Road 91 (SR 91), is a toll road in the U.S. state of Florida, maintained by Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE). Spanning approximately along a northwest–southeast axis, the turnpike is in two sections. The SR 91 mainline runs roughly , from its southern terminus at an interchange with Interstate 95 (I-95) in Miami Gardens to an interchange with I-75 in Wildwood at its northern terminus. Dixie Highway
Dixie Highway was a United States auto trail first planned in 1914 to connect the Midwest with the South. It was part of a system and was expanded from an earlier Miami to Montreal highway. The final system is better understood as a network of connected paved roads, rather than one single highway. It was constructed and expanded from 1915 to 1929. The Dixie Highway was inspired by the example of the slightly earlier Lincoln Highway, the first road across the United States. The prime booster of both projects was promoter and businessman Carl G. Fisher. It was overseen by the Dixie Highway Association and funded by a group of individuals, businesses, local governments, and states.
