State Road 11 (Florida)
State Road 11 (SR 11) is a north–south route in Flagler and Volusia Counties, running from US 17 north of DeLand to US 1 in Bunnell. Route description State Road 11 begins at US 17 near Lake Molly in northern DeLand as a one-way street until it reaches Glenwood Road which is also part of SR 11 east of US 17. The road takes a slight curve to the right where it passes a former segment known as Old Perkins Highway, then curves back north. It briefly becomes a two-lane divided highway as it intersects with CR 15A, where southbound access to that route contains a long south-to-west turning ramp, and a short east-to-south turning ramp. Throughout much of its existence, SR 11 serves as the western border for the Tomoka Wildlife Management Area Union-Camp Tract. The Old Bunnell State Bank Building (also known as the Citizens Bank of Bunnell) is a historic site in Bunnell, Florida, located between 101 through 107 North Bay Street. The State Highway System of the U.S. state of Florida comprises the roads maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) or a toll authority. The components are referred to officially as state roads, abbreviated as SR. History Prior to the 1945 renumbering, State Roads were given numbers in the order they were added to the system. The 1945 renumbering removed many roads that were never built and added some that had not existed prior to 1945. In 1955, the State Road Department (SRD) slowed the addition of new state roads and began to classify roads into primary, secondary, and local roads. State Road 5 (SR 5) is a mostly-unsigned state highway in the state of Florida. It is mainly signed as US 1 from its south end in Key West, Florida to Jacksonville, Florida, and US 17 from Jacksonville to the Georgia state line at the Saint Marys River. US 1 is SR 15 northwest from Jacksonville. Volusia Speedway Park (formerly known as Volusia County Speedway and Barberville Speedway) is an auto racing facility located near Barberville in Volusia County, Florida. It currently operates as a 1/2-mile dirt oval and a 1/5-mile dirt oval for karts. The track currently hosts races from the World of Outlaws series (both sprints and late models) and the UMP late model series, As well as the UMP Super DIRTcar Series (Both big-block and small block modified racing). State Road 15 (SR 15) is part of the Florida State Road System. This route is part of a multi two-state route 15 that begins at Florida and ends at Georgia at the North Carolina state line. The Florida East Coast Railway is a Class II railroad operating in the U.S. state of Florida, currently owned by Grupo México. Built primarily in the last quarter of the 19th century and the first decade of the 20th century, the FEC was a project of Standard Oil principal Henry Flagler.
