Tyrolean State Museum
The Tyrolean State Museum (german: Tiroler Landesmuseum), also known as the Ferdinandeum after Archduke Ferdinand, is located in Innsbruck, Austria. It was founded in 1823 by the Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum Society (''Verein Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum''). Since 2007 it has been a major division of the Tyrolean State Museums Operating Company (''Tiroler Landesmuseen-Betriebsgesellschaft''), which has taken over the running of the business. Also transferred to the operating company at the same time were the Tyrolean Museum of Popular Art, the ''Kaiserschützen Museum'', the Chapel Royal (''Hofkirche'') and the Tyrolean Folk Song Archives (''Tiroler Volksliedarchiv''). The Pensacola Museum of History at the University of West Florida, formerly the T. T. Wentworth Jr. Florida State Museum, is a museum of history located at 330 Jefferson Street in the Plaza Ferdinand VII in Pensacola, Florida. The Minnesota History Center is a museum and library that serves as the headquarters of the Minnesota Historical Society. The Indiana State Museum is a museum located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The museum houses exhibits on the science, art, culture, and history of Indiana from prehistoric times to the present day. History The original collection of the Indiana State Museum was started in 1862, during the Civil War, when State Librarian R. Deloss Brown began collecting minerals and other curiosities that he kept in a cabinet.
