State Highway 3 (Kerala)
State Highway 3 (SH 3) is a State Highway in Kerala, India that starts at Nedumangad Toll junction and ends at the Kadukkara near Kerala - Tamilnadu border. The highway is 37.5 km long. This was part of hitherto existed Aralvaimozhi - Nedumangad royal state highway of Travancore. Now a part of it is in Kerala and another in Tamilnadu. The road runs parallel to Western Ghats till the Aralvaimozhi pass. The stretch of this highway from Anappara near Vellarada till Aryanad is now part of Hill Highway (Kerala). This highway connects tourist destinations such as Koickal Palace Nedumangadu, Neyyar Dam, Neyyar Safari Park, Dravyappara, Thekkan Kurishumala, Elephant Rehabilitation Center Kottur, Chittar Dam and Thripparappu waterfalls. Kerala Public Works Department (KPWD) is a department under the government of the state of Kerala, India. It manages the construction and maintenance of civil structures owned by the government viz; government buildings, government owned hospitals (part of the public health system), roads, bridges etc. The KPWD was formed in 1956 following reorganization of states. Boothapandi
Boothapandi is a panchayat town in Kanyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The town spans an area of around 5 km2 with Thittuvilai, Thuvarancaud, Arasankuzhi, Andithoppu, Mannadi, Saattupudoor, Seethapal and Manathittai as its sub-villages. Perunchani Dam
Perunchani Dam is an irrigation dam at Perunchani, in Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the dams of the Kodayar Irrigation System. As there was water deficiency in the Kodayar Irrigation System, Perunchani Dam was constructed in December 1952 to store flood water of the Paralayar River as an extension. It was built about upstream of the Puthen dam on the Paralayar River. The irrigation system became operational on 2 September 1953. It feeds the left bank irrigation canal system of the Puthen dam, which is the terminal structure of the system.
