State Highway 33 (Texas)
State Highway 33 is a route that runs from U.S. Highways 60 and 83 south of Canadian, Texas, Canadian and travels east to the Oklahoma border, where it becomes State Highway 33 (Oklahoma), State Highway 33. Previous routes SH 33 was originally proposed on November 19, 1917, from El Paso, Texas, El Paso to the New Mexico border. On December 18, 1917, an intercounty highway was designated from Amarillo to Higgins. On September 5, 1918, SH 33 was extended southwest to the Mexico border. On October 21, 1918, another intercounty highway was designated from Farwell to Canyon. On March 19, 1919, another section of SH 33 was added from the New Mexico border through Amarillo, Texas, Amarillo northeast through Panhandle, Texas, Panhandle then east through Wheeler, Texas, Wheeler and into Oklahoma, replacing the intercounty highway from Farwell to Canyon and the section of the intercounty highway from Amarillo to Pampa. US 60
U.S. Route 60 is a major east–west United States highway, traveling from southwestern Arizona to the Atlantic Ocean coast in Virginia. The highway's eastern terminus is in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where it is known as Pacific Avenue, in the city's Oceanfront resort district at the intersection of 5th Street and Winston-Salem Avenue. Its original western terminus was in Springfield, Missouri; it was then extended to Los Angeles, California, but in 1964, it was truncated to end southwest of Brenda, Arizona, at an interchange with Interstate 10 (I-10) after the US 60 highway designation was removed from California. I-10 replaced US 60 from Beaumont, California, to Arizona, and California State Route 60 (SR 60) replaced US 60 from Los Angeles to Beaumont.
