Starlee Kine
Starlee Kine (born April 8, 1975) is an American public radio producer and writer. She was the creator and host of the podcast ''Mystery Show'', which was done in production with Gimlet Media. Her work has been featured on ''This American Life''. She was a frequent guest on the CBC Radio show ''WireTap (radio program), WireTap''. Her writing has appeared in the ''New York Times Magazine'' and ''California Sunday''. On April 30, 2015, Gimlet Media announced Kine would be the host of its new podcast, ''Mystery Show''. The show's first episode was released on May 22, 2015. In early 2016, she was an artist-in-residence at the MacDowell Colony. On March 4, 2016, she presented a sampling of her work and a teaser of a mystery-in-progress at the Monadnock Cultural Center in Peterborough, New Hampshire. XOXO (festival)
XOXO is an annual festival and conference held in Portland, Oregon, that describes itself as "an experimental festival for independent artists who live and work online". XOXO was founded in 2012 by Andy Baio and Andy McMillan with funding from prepaid tickets and other contributions via Kickstarter. In 2016, technology website The Verge called it "the internet's best festival". XOXO was held every year from 2012 to 2019 except for 2017; it has not been held since 2019, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. David Rees (cartoonist)
David Thomas Rees ( ; born June 22, 1972) is a humorist and cultural critic. He first rose to prominence as a cartoonist whose best-known work combined bland clip art with "trash talk". Rees later created an artisanal pencil sharpening service and published a related book on the subject. He co-created and hosted two seasons of the television series '' Going Deep with David Rees''. Early life Rees grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and was an avid reader of '' Rex Morgan, M.D.'' comics. According to Rees, while a young man he and three of his friends recorded over 2,000 songs as members of a "secret band". He is a graduate of Oberlin College, and drew comics for the school's newspaper, ''The Oberlin Review''. The Moth
The Moth is a non-profit group based in New York City dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. Founded in 1997, the organization presents a wide range of theme-based storytelling events across the United States and abroad, often featuring prominent literary and cultural personalities alongside everyday people like veterans, astronauts, school teachers, and parents.
