Stardust Five (album)
''Stardust Five'' is the self-titled debut album by Stardust Five which was released in 2006. The album was mixed and produced by Tchad Blake (Crowded House, Bernard Fanning). It was released on EMI Music in Australia and Capitol Records in the United States. The first single "Pussy Got Your Tongue" features vocals from Loene Carmen, a singer/songwriter/actress, who has released two solo albums and has collaborated with the likes of the Dirty Three and The Mess Hall. The title of the song was originally the title of a short film by Tania Lacy that was shown at Tropfest in 1997. Lacy also co-wrote the song with the band. Sian Prior who provides additional vocals on "Zoe" and "Los Cucumbros" was also Paul Kelly's then-girlfriend. Paul Maurice Kelly (born 13 January 1955) is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has performed solo, and has led numerous groups, including the Dots, the Coloured Girls, and the Messengers. He has worked with other artists and groups, including associated projects Professor Ratbaggy and Stardust Five. Kelly's music style has ranged from Bluegrass music, bluegrass to studio-oriented dub music, dub reggae, but his core output straddles folk music, folk, rock and country music, country. Peter Luscombe is an Australian drummer and composer. Career Luscombe was a member of The Black Sorrows from 1985 to 1993 appearing on the albums ''A Place in the World'' (1986), ''Dear Children'' (1987), ''Hold on to Me'' (1988), ''Harley and Rose'' (1990), ''Better Times'' (1993). He worked with Stephen Cummings as a member of Stephen Cummings' Lovetown, and the Stephen Cummings Band. Daniel Francis Luscombe is an Australian guitarist, producer and composer. He has been a member of The Blackeyed Susans, The Drones, Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males, Stardust Five, Spencer P. Jones & the Last Gasp and Paul Kelly and the Boon Companions, as well as playing alongside Courtney Barnett, Mick Harvey, Ariel Pink, Damo Suzuki, James Chance and Marlon Williams as a touring member of their bands. Daniel O Kelly (born Daniel Kelly; 1974), known as Dan Kelly, is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has released music as part of Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males. Biography 1974–1999: Early Years Dan Kelly grew up in Queensland, on the Gold Coast, attended a Catholic school, in Beenleigh, and was the second oldest of six children. Tropfest
Tropfest is the world's largest short film film festival, festival. It has also become known as the world's first global film festival. Founded by actor/director John Polson, Tropfest began in 1993 as a screening for 200 people at the 'Tropicana Caffe' in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia, but has since become the largest platform for short films in the world. Surf Music
Surf music (or surf rock, surf pop, or surf guitar) is a genre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California. It was especially popular from 1958 to 1964 in two major forms. The first is instrumental surf, distinguished by reverb-heavy electric guitars played to evoke the sound of crashing waves, largely pioneered by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. The second is vocal surf, which took elements of the original surf sound and added vocal harmonies, a movement led by the Beach Boys.
