Star Stowe
Star Stowe (born Ellen Louise Stowe; March 19, 1956, Little Rock, Arkansas – March 16, 1997, Coral Springs, Florida) was an American model. She was ''Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for its February 1977 issue. Stowe was murdered by an unknown assailant. Biography Stowe was born Ellen Louise Stowe on March 19, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas and grew up in Arkansas, Louisiana and Nevada. Her father was an engineer. When she was a teenager she moved to Las Vegas and then to Los Angeles, where she worked as a stripper in an adult club. Stowe chose to call herself "Star" because of her love of the skies and had a blue star tattooed below her bikini line. She dated Gene Simmons and he sent her photos to Playboy. Her shoot was photographed by Pompeo Posar, and included some pictures with a Rickenbacker bass guitar. Centerfold
The centerfold or centrefold of a magazine is the inner pages of the middle sheet, usually containing a portrait, such as a pin-up or a nude. The term can also refer to the model featured in the portrait. In saddle-stitched magazines (as opposed to those that are perfect-bound), the centerfold does not have any blank space cutting through the image. The term was coined by Hugh Hefner, founder of ''Playboy'' magazine. The success of the 1953 first issue of ''Playboy'' has been attributed in large part to its centerfold: a nude of Marilyn Monroe. The advent of monthly centerfolds gave the pin-up a new respectability, and helped to sanitize the notion of "sexiness". Being featured as a centerfold could lead to film roles for models, and still occasionally does today. Picture discs are gramophone (phonograph) records that show images on their playing surface, rather than being of plain black or colored vinyl.
