Star Of The Commander Of Valour
The Star of the Commander of Valour ( ms, Panglima Gagah Berani) is a medal awarded by the Malaysian government. The award was established on 29 July 1960, and it was formally gazetted by an act of parliament on 11 August 1960. It is Malaysia's second highest gallantry award, coming in second only to the Grand Knight of Valour (). Only members of the military (i.e. all services under the Malaysian Armed Forces) and members of law enforcement forces (e.g. Royal Malaysia Police and Malaysia Coast Guard) are eligible for the award. It can be bestowed posthumously. When compared to British Armed Forces military awards, this award is equivalent to the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross. Act 616 Living recipients receive a monthly allowance of RM300, according to ''Akta 616-Akta Panglima Gagah Berani (Elaun Kenangan) 2001''. Malaysian Royal Armoured Corps
The Royal Armoured Corps or ''Kor Armor Diraja'' (KAD) is the armoured forces of the Malaysian Army. The Royal Malaysian Armoured Corps have had its beginning with two army units formed by the British Administration headed by General Sir Gerald Templer who had initiated the formation during the Malayan Emergency. Kanang Anak Langkau
WO1 Temenggong Datuk Kanang anak Langkau, SP, PGB, PGBK, PBS (Rt) (2 March 1945 – 3 January 2013) was a Malaysian hero and soldier from the Iban Dayak community in Sarawak. He was in the Royal Ranger Regiment and Regimental Sergeant Major of 8 Renjer (8th Rangers) of the Malaysian Army with his tag number of 901378. He was awarded the Panglima Gagah Berani and Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa medals from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ahmad Shah on 3 June 1981. He is the sole recipient of both the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa and Pingat Gagah Berani, and was the last living recipient of the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa. The ( en, Territorial Army Regiment) is the military reserve force of the Malaysian Army. The Regiment infantry units formerly consisted of 2 series of reservists; the mobilised 300 series and the volunteer 500 series. The 300 series, which consisted of 5 infantry battalions, with mobilised reservists for full-time duty, have since 2008 been converted into a new regular border regiment, the Rejimen Sempadan. Ielias Ibrahim
Ielias bin Ibrahim is a former Malaysian soldier. He is notable for being the only soldier from Rejimen Askar Wataniah to have been awarded the Panglima Gagah Berani. Army career He first joined the army on 27 December 1976 at the age of 20 and was absorbed into 19 Platoon, D Company of 11 Rejimen Askar Wataniah. His unit's primary duty was to man roadblocks and guard the construction of the East-West Highway through the town of Gerik, Perak. On 15 August 1977, he was involved in a firefight which earned him the Panglima Gagah Berani. His unit of 5 soldiers (including himself) was given the duty of transporting rations to another military post. En route they discovered a dead monkey on the pathway that they were using. Upon inspection it was decided that the monkey had been slaughtered. After discounting the possibility of an ambush, the unit moved forward only to be mowed down by enemy fire. ACP S. Kulasingam s/o Sabaratnam (12 August 1931 - 29 November 2007), was a retired Malaysian police officer and was considered the most fearless police officer in the 1970s. Early life Kulasingam Sabaratnam was born on August 12, 1931, in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. He received his education at the St. Paul school (Senior Cambridge) in 1950.
