Starlet Marie Jones (born March 24, 1962), better known as Star Jones, is an American lawyer, journalist, television personality, fashion designer, author, and women's and diversity advocate. She is best known as one of the first co-hosts on the ABC morning talk show '' The View'', which she appeared on for nine seasons from 1997-98 through 2005-06. She was also one of sixteen contestants of the fourth installment of ''The Celebrity Apprentice'' in 2011, coming in fifth place. On January 10, 2022, it was announced that longest running courtroom series, ''Divorce Court'', would enter its milestone 24th season on September 19, 2022, with Jones, a former Brooklyn prosecutor and district attorney, as the show's next arbitrator. Joseph Albert Wapner (November 15, 1919 – February 26, 2017) was an American Judge and Television Personality. He is best known as the first presiding judge of the ongoing reality court show ''The People's Court''. The court show's first run in syndication, with Judge Wapner presiding as Judge, lasted from 1981 to 1993, for a total of 12 seasons and 2,484 episodes. While the show's second run has been presided over by multiple judges, Judge Wapner was the sole judge to preside during the court show's first incarnation. ''Trial by Jury'' is an American dramatized court show that aired in first-run syndication during the 1989-90 television season. Cast and characters The series features real-life courtroom cases that were reenacted by actors. The series was hosted by Raymond Burr portraying the character of Judge Gordon Duane (not to be confused with judging the cases, his character rather served as the program's presenter, uninvolved with the actual proceedings). The series featured an actor judge as well as actor attorneys. Actress Madlyn Rhue played the judge role during the cases. Rhue performed the role from a wheelchair, a detail that was unseen to viewers as she sat behind the bench while presiding (she suffered from multiple sclerosis that began prior to this series and which caused her need for a wheelchair).
