Star Awards For Best Actor
The Star Awards for Best Actor is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. The category was introduced in 1995, at the 2nd Star Awards ceremony; Li Nanxing received the award for his role in ''Wounded Tracks'' and it is given in honour of a Mediacorp actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role. The nominees are determined by a team of judges employed by Mediacorp; winners are selected by a majority vote from the entire judging panel. Since its inception, the award has been given to 11 actors. Chen Hanwei is the most recent winner in this category for his role in ''Recipe of Life''. Since the ceremony held in 2022, Chen remains as the only actor to win in this category seven times, surpassing Xie Shaoguang who has five wins. Edmund Chen
Edmund Chen () (born 4 February 1961) is a Singaporean former actor and artist. He began his career in 1987 and rose to become one of Singapore's most prominent and popular actors during the 1990s and early 2000s. Career Chen entered the entertainment industry after completing the SBC (predecessor of MediaCorp) 7th drama training course in 1987. Love Me, Love Me Not (真爱无敌) is a romance drama about two angels who must fulfill a mission to make certain people fall in love. The drama serial follow the lives of Hainanese in Singapore from the 1960s to the 1990s. Star Awards 2000 is the eighth installment of the annual Star Awards presented by the Television Corporation of Singapore to honour its artistes who work on Channel 8. The ceremony were hosted by Timothy Chao and Yvette Tsui. The award ceremony saw numerous changes in the award ceremony, with the Taiwan popularity votes being discontinued and were solely decided by the Malaysia viewers alone, new categories were introduced (such as the Best News/Current Affairs Presenter, now as two separate categories), and nominations for both Primetime and Daytime programs were merged. Richard Low (; born 19 June 1952), also known as Liu Qianyi, is a Singaporean actor.
