Stanwell is an electoral ward in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It elects two county councillors to the Vale of Glamorgan Council and three town councillors to Penarth Town Council. Description The Stanwell ward covers the residential area southwest of Penarth town centre including the neighbourhoods of Morristown and the area around Stanwell Road and Stanwell Comprehensive School. The Penarth wards of Cornerswell and Plymouth lie to the north and south respectively, while the county ward of Dinas Powys is located to the west. It covers Penarth Head and Penarth Marina northeast of the town centre, including the parish church of St Augustine's. Dinas Powys is the name of an electoral ward in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It covers its namesake community of Dinas Powys and the neighbouring Michaelston-le-Pit and Leckwith to the north. Stanwell is a village close to two of the three main towns in the Borough of Spelthorne, Surrey, about west of central London. A small corner of its land is vital industrial land serving Heathrow Airport – most of the rest is residential/recreational, and the housing ranges from suburban homes with gardens to low- to mid-rise urban apartment blocks. Historically part of the county of Middlesex, it has, like the rest of Spelthorne, been in Surrey since 1965. Penarth Town Council is an elected community council serving the town of Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. Background Penarth has had a council of one form or another since the 1890s.
