Stanley Gon Lap Lai (born 1965) is an international lawn bowler from Hong Kong. Bowls career Lai came to prominence (as the champion of Hong Kong) representing his nation and winning the silver medal at the 2012 World Singles Champion of Champions. He was denied gold by Muhammad Hizlee Abdul Rais of Malaysia. World Singles Champion Of Champions
The World Singles Champion of Champions is an event inaugurated in 2003 that is contested annually between bowlers who have won their respective national singles title. The event was first held in 2003 at the Moama Bowling Club in Moama, Australia. Traditionally the competition favours the Southern Hemisphere players due to the fact that the Northern Hemisphere players have to travel to the event and compete on faster greens. No male player has managed to win the title a second time and the only female to achieve two wins is Jo Edwards Joanna Edwards (born 5 February 1970) is a New Zealand international lawn bowls competitor. Muhammad Hizlee Abdul Rais (born 23 February 1989) is a Malaysian lawn bowler. Bowls career World Championships Rais was selected by the Malaysian national team, to represent them at the sport's blue riband event, the 2023 World Bowls Championship. He participated in the men's triples and the men's fours events. The Malaysian team ranked seventh in the world at the start of the tournament, were given the target of reaching the semi finals. In the triples, his team reached the quarter final before losing to Ireland. Commonwealth Games Rais competed in both the men's singles and the men's pairs events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
