Stanley Duyzer
Stanley Duyzer (16 February 1935 – 18 February 2015) was a Surinamese football manager and player who played the majority of his career as a midfielder in the Hoofdklasse for S.V. Robinhood. He later managed the youth teams of Robinhood under head coach Ronald Kolf for the remainder of his career. Career Early career Duyzer began his career in 1945 at age 10 joining the youth ranks of Holland in Coronie where he was born. As a child he would spend his Summers in Paramaribo, where he would watch S.V. Robinhood practice on the Wees Paraat terrein, where he meet Louis Mijnals and Michel Kruin. In 1950 he moved to the city to play for Torpedo on the Mr. Bronsplein, with ambitions to one day play for Robinhood. TGG Moving to Combé in 1952, Duyzer joined The Goal Getters (TGG) from Moengo, where he played with Leo Marcet at the time, making his debut in the top flight of Suriname. Coronie District
Coronie is a district of Suriname, situated on the coast. Coronie's capital city is Totness. The district border the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the Surinamese district of Saramacca to the east, the Surinamese district of Sipaliwini to the south and the Surinamese district of Nickerie to the west. The district is served by the Totness Airstrip. The district has a population of 3,391 and an area of 3,902 km2, and is the district with the smallest population. History The first plantations were established from 1808 onwards by English and Scottish colonists. Coronie became an independent district in 1851. The oldest plantation in the district is Burnside. Coronie was isolated and it was not until the 1940s, that a road was built linking Totness with Paramaribo, which is nowadays part of the East-West Link. Moengo
Moengo () is a town in Suriname, located in the Marowijne district, between Paramaribo and the border town Albina on the Cottica River. Moengo is also a resort (municipality) in the district of Marowijne. Moengo was the capital of Marowijne District between 1932 and 1945. The current capital is Albina. History Moengo started as a Maroon village on top of a hill overlooking the Cottica River. The settlement was later abandoned due to the difficulty of building houses on the bauxite rich ground. In 1916, Alcoa founded the first bauxite mine in Suriname, and this marks the beginning of the current town. Moengo was designed in 1919 to house 4,000 people. It would become a major centre for the mining and storage of bauxite. Moengo was a segregated town. Siegfried Haltman
Siegfried Haltman (26 December 1941 – 3 September 2016), known as Siki, was a Surinamese football player who played for S.V. Robinhood, América Futebol Clube (PE), Baltimore Bays, AZ'67 and for the Suriname national team during the span of his career. In 1964 he won the Surinamese Footballer of the Year award, becoming the first recipient of the award since its inception. Career SV Robinhood Having played in the youth ranks of S.V. Robinhood, Haltman made his debut in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse in 1963, playing with the likes of Armand Doesburg and Edwin Schal. In 1964 he led Robinhood to the national title, going undefeated all season. His performance earned him the first Surinamese Footballer of the Year award to be awarded that same year. Ronald Kolf
Ronald Wilfried Kolf (born June 5, 1939) is a former Surinamese football manager and player who last served as the technical director of the Suriname national team and a board member of Surinamese football club S.V. Leo Victor. As a player, he played in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse for S.V. Robinhood and for S.V. Transvaal, having taken a brief player-coaching role at Concordia in Moengo, he would return to Paramaribo to finish his playing career at Transvaal. He is one of the most successful managers in Suriname, having led Transvaal and Robinhood to a total 15 national titles. SVB Hoofdklasse
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
