Stanislav Savchenko
Stanislav Savchenko (born 21 January 1967) is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster (1993). He took part in the FIDE World Chess Championship 2002, but was knocked out in the first round by Francisco Vallejo Pons. He played for Ukraine in the Chess Olympiads of 1996 and 1998. In 1997 he tied for first through third place with Giorgi Bagaturov and Alexander Moroz in the Danko Chess Tournament in Yenakiieve. In 2006 he tied for first with Boris Chatalbashev in the 4th Georgiev-Kesarovski tournament. In 2007 he tied for first with Sergey Fedorchuk in Bad Zwesten Open. Boris Chatalbashev ( bg, Борис Чаталбашев; born 30 January 1974) is a Bulgarian and Danish chess Grandmaster (GM) (1997), four-times Bulgarian Chess Championship winner (1991, 1998, 2007, 2010). He won the Danish championship in 2023. Biography In the 1990s and 2000s, Boris Chatalbashev was one of the leading Bulgaria chess players. He four times won Bulgarian Chess Championship: in 1991 (he became youngest champion in the history of Bulgarian chess), 1998, 2007, and 2010. The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in zero-sum games such as chess. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo, a Hungarian-American physics professor. The Elo system was invented as an improved chess-rating system over the previously used Harkness system, but is also used as a rating system in association football, American football, baseball, basketball, pool, table tennis, and various board games and esports. The difference in the ratings between two players serves as a predictor of the outcome of a match. Two players with equal ratings who play against each other are expected to score an equal number of wins. A player whose rating is 100 points greater than their opponent's is expected to score 64%; if the difference is 200 points, then the expected score for the stronger player is 76%. Bad Zwesten is a municipality in the Schwalm-Eder district of Hesse, Germany. Yenakiieve ( uk, Єна́кієве, ''Yenákiieve'', ; russian: Ена́киево, ''Yenákiyevo'') is a city in the Donetsk Oblast (province) of eastern Ukraine. Grandmaster (chess)
Grandmaster (GM) is a title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally it has been revoked for cheating. The title of Grandmaster, along with the lesser FIDE titles of International Master (IM) and FIDE Master (FM), is open to all players regardless of gender. The great majority of grandmasters are men, but 40 women have been awarded the GM title as of 2022, out of a total of about 2000 grandmasters. Since about the year 2000, most of the top 10 women have held the GM title. There is also a Woman Grandmaster title with lower requirements awarded only to women. Giorgi Bagaturov (born November 28, 1964) is a Georgian-Armenian chess grandmaster. He is a three-time Georgian Chess Champion and won the World Senior Championship's over-50 section in 2016.
