Sydney John Webb (6 January 1906 – January 1994), commonly known as Stan Webb, was an English professional footballer who made more than 200 Football League appearances playing as a goalkeeper for Brighton & Hove Albion. Life and career Webb was born in Portslade-by-Sea, Sussex, in 1906. He worked at the local gasworks, and played football for his works team and for Sussex County League team Hove before turning professional with Brighton & Hove Albion in 1924. He spent the next season with Tunbridge Wells Rangers of the Kent League, and made 24 first-team appearances for Albion in 1925–26. He then lost his place to the experienced Skilly Williams Reginald George "Skilly" Williams (4 January 1890 – 19 June 1959) was an English association footballer. Tunbridge Wells Football Club is a football club based in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. They are currently members of the . They play their home games at Culverden Stadium. The club is affiliated to the Kent County Football Association. History Tunbridge Wells FC was originally formed in 1886, and played as an amateur side until the 1st World War when they folded. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions. The Central and South Divisions are at step 3 of the National League System (NLS), and are feeder divisions, mainly to the National League South but also to the National League North. Feeding the Premier Divisions are two regional divisions, Division One Central and Division One South, which are at step 4 of the NLS. These divisions are in turn fed by various regional leagues. Joe Duckworth (footballer)
Joseph Cullen Duckworth (29 April 1898 – 1965) was an English footballer who made more than 300 Football League appearances playing as a goalkeeper. Life and career Duckworth was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, in 1898. He played football for Lancashire Combination club Accrington Stanley before signing amateur forms with Blackburn Rovers. He made his Football League debut in the first season after the First World War for Blackburn Rovers, and played five First Division matches for Rovers before joining Aberdare Athletic in July 1921 ahead of their first season in the Football League. He made 84 league appearances over three years in the Third Division South. He joined Reading in 1924, and missed only one league match in his first four years with the club; he was ever-present in the 1925–26 Football League season as Reading won the Third Division South title. Skilly Williams
Reginald George "Skilly" Williams (4 January 1890 – 19 June 1959) was an English association footballer. Born in Watford, he played primarily as a striker during his amateur career, but later switched to become a goalkeeper. After playing for Leavesden Mental Hospital's football team, as well as for Hertfordshire, Williams joined Watford as an amateur in 1910, turning professional in 1914. During his first season as a professional, Watford won the 1914–1915 Southern Football League title. League football was then interrupted for four seasons due to the First World War. He served as a private in the Norfolk Regiment and the Labour Corps during the conflict. Following the resumption of competitive football in 1919, Williams again played a part as Watford finished runners up to Portsmouth on goal average. Kent Football League
The Southern Counties East Football League is an English football league established in 1966, which has teams based in Kent and Southeast London. Until 2013, it was known as the Kent League. There was a previous Kent League, that existed from 1894 to 1959. History The first Kent League was formed in 1894 and folded in 1959. Despite many of the same clubs having spells in membership, there is no direct connection between the two competitions. The current incarnation of the league was formed in 1966 as the Kent Premier League (changing to Kent Football League in 1968), and in its early years many of its members were reserve sides of Southern League teams. Gradually, the reserve sides were all shifted down into the lower divisions.
