Rigmor Stampe
Rigmor Stampe Bendix (1850–1923) was a Danish baroness, writer and philanthropist. In 1898, she became editor of ''Kvindernes Blad'' (Women's Paper), a supplement to various daily newspapers, developing it as an organ for the Women in Denmark, women's movement. She is remembered in Denmark for her biographies of the sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen, ''Baronesse Stampes Erindringer om Thorvaldsen'' (1912) and of her godfather Hans Christian Andersen, ''H.C. Andersen og hans nærmeste Omgang'' (1918). Early life and education Born at Christinelund near Præstø on 7 December 1850, Rigmor Stampe was the daughter of Baron Henrik Stampe (1821–1892) and Jonna Drewson. Stampe Et Vertongen
Stampe et Vertongen was a Belgian aircraft manufacturer formed in 1922 and based at Antwerp. The company specialised in design and construction of primary trainers/tourers and advanced trainers. One of their products - the Stampe-Vertongen SV.4 - has become known in certain countries as just ''Stampe''. History Established in 1922 with Alfred Renard as its chief designer, the company designed a series of trainer/tourer aircraft in the 1920s and 1930s, all prefixed RSV (for Renard, Stampe & Vertongen). In the early 1930s Alfred Renard left to join a company he had formed with his brother Georges Renard Société Anonyme d'Avions et de Moteurs Renard. The RSV company designation prefix then changed to SV. The company's most successful design was the SV.4 of 1933, a light tourer/trainer biplane powered by a de Havilland Gipsy III engine. Stampee
A dog or a black dog was a coin in the Caribbean of Queen Anne of Great Britain, made of pewter or copper, typically worth 1½ pence or of a dollar. The name comes from the negative connotations of the word "dog," as they came from debased silver coins, and the dark color of those same debased coins. Black dogs were also at times called "stampes" or "stampees", as they were typically the coins of other colonial powers—French coins worth 2 sous or, equivalently, 24 diniers—stamped to make them British currency. A dog and a stampee were not necessarily of equal value. For example, the Spanish dollar was subdivided into bits, each worth 9 pence, 6 black dogs or 4 stampees. Before 1811, 1 dollar equalled 11 bits (making a dog of a dollar and a stampee of a dollar); after 1811, 1 dollar equalled 12 bits (making a dog of a dollar and a stampee of a dollar).
