Stage Awards For Acting Excellence
The ''Stage'' Awards for Acting Excellence are a set of Scottish theatre awards which were established in 1995 to recognise outstanding theatre performances by individuals and companies on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Organised by the theatrical newspaper ''The Stage'', the initial award categories of Best Actor and Best Actress were joined by a Best Ensemble award in 1998. Nichola McAuliffe
Nichola McAuliffe (born 1955) is an English television and stage actress and writer, best known for her role as Sheila Sabatini in the ITV hospital sitcom '' Surgical Spirit'' (1989–1995). She has also starred in several stage musicals and won the 1988 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in ''Kiss Me, Kate''. Daniel Kitson
Daniel John Kitson (born 2 July 1977) is an English comedian and writer. Early life Daniel John Kitson was born in Denby Dale on 2 July 1977, the son of a primary school headteacher mother and a lecturer father. He was a pupil at Scissett Middle School and Shelley College. He subsequently studied drama at Roehampton Institute, now known as the University of Roehampton. Career Comedy Kitson began performing comedy at the age of 16. He was nominated for the 2001 Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for his show ''Love, Innocence and the Word Cock'' before winning it in 2002 for the show ''Something''. ''Animal Farm'' is a beast fable, in the form of satirical allegorical novella, by George Orwell, first published in England on 17 August 1945. It tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. ''Black Watch'' is a play written by Gregory Burke and directed by John Tiffany as part of the first season of the National Theatre of Scotland. Based on interviews with former soldiers, it portrays soldiers in the Black Watch regiment of the British Army serving on Operation TELIC in Iraq during 2004, prior to the amalgamation into the Royal Regiment of Scotland. The National Theatre of Scotland, established in 2006, is the national theatre company of Scotland. Steven Berkoff (born Leslie Steven Berks; 3 August 1937) is an English actor, author, playwright, theatre practitioner and theatre director. Cora Bissett (born 1974) is a Scottish theatre director, playwright, actor and musician. As a director she has created ''Amada'', ''Roadkill'', ''Grit: The Martyn Bennett Story'', ''Glasgow Girls'' and ''Room''.
