Stafford () is a market town and the county town of Staffordshire, in the West Midlands region of England. It lies about north of Wolverhampton, south of Stoke-on-Trent and northwest of Birmingham. The town had a population of 70,145 in the 2021 census, It is the main settlement within the larger borough of Stafford which had a population of 136,837 (2021). The original settlement was on a dry sand and gravel peninsula that offered a strategic crossing point in the marshy valley of the River Sow, a tributary of the River Trent. Blessed William Howard Catholic School
The Blessed William Howard Catholic School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Stafford, Staffordshire, England. The school was originally opened in 1963. The name Blessed William Howard comes from the site on which the school is located. William Howard was the 1st Viscount of Stafford in the 17th century, and owned the land on which the current school is built. He was convicted of treason and executed in 1680, wrongly so, as it is viewed by the Roman Catholic Church. The Church therefore beatified him in 1929, and he became known as Blessed William Howard. Sir Graham Balfour School
Sir Graham Balfour School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Stafford, England. It is named after Graham Balfour, son of the Victorian statistician, who became Director of Education in Staffordshire. The original school was demolished in 2001, with the new school building being constructed and completed in 2002. It achieved specialist Maths and Computing School status from September 2006. The school converted to academy status in September 2016. As of June 2021, the school is building a new set of classrooms, behind the sports hall, which will soon be where modern foreign languages (French, Spanish and German) will be taught. Weston Road Academy
The Weston Road Academy (formerly Weston Road High School) is an academy school in Stafford, England. It provides secondary and further education for pupils aged 11–18 in the east side of the town, as well as the surrounding villages of Great Haywood, Little Haywood, Hopton, Weston and Hixon. It has links to other local high schools through a local education collaboration - the Stafford Sixth form - which provides education for 16 to 18 year olds. In 2012 it became an academy school.
