Stadio Giovanni Celeste
Stadio Comunale Giovanni Celeste is a multi-use stadium in Messina, Italy. It is currently the home of S.S.D. Città di Messina (as known as ''Camaro''). The stadium is able to hold 11,900 people. History The stadium was named after (1905–1943), an Italian serviceman who served in the Regia Marina during World War II. It was used mostly for football matches and hosted the home matches since 1932 to 2004 of the former city teams. It was initially closed in 2004 when Stadio San Filippo opened and it was reopened since 2010–11 season to host the home games of the new town club of S.S.D. Città di Messina that plays in Serie D. On June 5, 1982, the stadium has hosted a Euro 84 qualifier between Malta and Iceland because Malta's own stadium in Gżira was not up to scratch. Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard. UEFA Euro 1984
The 1984 UEFA European Football Championship final tournament was held in France from 12 to 27 June 1984. It was the seventh UEFA European Championship, a competition held every four years and endorsed by UEFA. At the time, only eight countries took part in the final stage of the tournament, seven of which had to come through the qualifying stage. Gżira
Gżira ( mt, Il-Gżira) is a town in the Central Region of Malta. It is located between Msida and Sliema, also bordering on Ta' Xbiex. It has a population of 8,029 as of March 2014. The word ''Gżira'' means "island" in Maltese, and the town is named after Manoel Island which lies just adjacent to the town. The seafront of Gżira has views of the walled city of Valletta, which are illuminated at night, forming a backdrop to Manoel Island, the yacht marina and a seafront public garden.
