Stade Guy Boniface is a multi-use stadium in Mont-de-Marsan, France. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home stadium of Stade Montois, currently playing in the country's top league, the Top 14. Stade Montois
Stade Montois is a French rugby union team that currently is playing in Pro D2, the second level of the country's professional league system. They were founded in 1908 and play in yellow and black. They are based in Mont-de-Marsan, the capital of the Landes ''département'', in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and play at the Stade Guy Boniface. Mont-de-Marsan (; Occitan: ''Lo Mont de Marçan'') is a commune and capital of the Landes department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, southwestern France. 2012–13 Top 14 Season
The 2012–13 Top 14 competition was a French domestic rugby union club competition operated by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR). Two new teams from the 2011–12 Pro D2 season were promoted to Top 14 this year, Grenoble and Stade Montois in place of the two relegated teams, CA Brive and Lyon OU. Home-and-away play began on 17 August 2012 and continued through to 5 May 2013. The regular season was followed by a three-round playoff involving the top six sides. The final was contested at the Stade de France between Toulon and Castres; the match was won 19–14 by Castres to earn them their first title since the controversial final in 1993. The Top 14 () is a professional rugby union club competition that is played in France. Created in 1892, the Top 14 is at the top of the national league system operated by the French National Rugby League, also known by its French initialism of LNR. There is promotion and relegation between the Top 14 and the next level down, the Rugby Pro D2. The fourteen best rugby teams in France participate in the competition, hence the name Top 14. The competition was previously known as the Top 16. Guy Boniface
Guy Boniface (6 March 1937 – 1 January 1968) was a French rugby union footballer that represented France national rugby union team, France in 35 Test match (rugby union), Tests. Born in Montfort-en-Chalosse, Aquitaine, he mainly played at Centre (rugby union), centre, and played for Stade Montois and U.S. Montfortoise. He won the Top 14, French Championship with Stade Montois in 1963, and was runner up with them in 1959. He also won the Challenge Yves du Manoir in 1960, 1961, and 1962. Stade Montois' stadium was named after him following his death. He played 18 Tests with his brother André Boniface including one Test against New Zealand (the All Blacks) in which the All Blacks had two sets of brothers playing. He helped France with the Six Nations Championship, Five Nations in 1959 - their first outright Championship victory.
