St Andrews Links Trophy
The St Andrews Links Trophy is an international amateur golf tournament contested on the St Andrews Links in Scotland. It has been played annually since 1989. The format is 72-hole stroke play over three days. 144 players compete in the first two rounds after which the leading 40 competitors and ties play a further 36 holes over the Old Course on the final day. The course or courses used for the first two rounds has varied from year to year, with combinations of the Old, New and Jubilee courses used. Before 2003 the event was played over two days. Originally the Old and New courses were used on the opening day. The Jubilee course was first used in 1999. Alan Dunbar
Alan Dunbar (born 30 April 1990) is a Northern Irish professional golfer who won the 2012 Amateur Championship at Royal Troon. His home club is Rathmore Golf Club near Portrush, County Antrim. Dunbar won the Ulster Youths Amateur Open in 2008, the St Andrews Links Trophy in 2009 and the North of Ireland Amateur Open and the Irish Open Amateur in 2010. Dunbar played in the winning 2011 Walker Cup team. Partnered with Paul Cutler they won both their foursome matches, although Dunbar lost his singles match on the final day. Nathan Kimsey (born 21 March 1993) is an English professional golfer. In 2022, he won the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final and the Challenge Tour Rankings.
