St. Joseph's Hospital, Dublin
St. Joseph's Hospital ( ga, Ospidéal Naomh Seosamh) is a hospital in Raheny, on the Northside of Dublin in Ireland. It is used as a rehabilitation hospital for patients of the Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. History The hospital was founded in Edenmore House in Raheny by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry as St. Joseph's Nursing Home in 1958. It operated as a private hospital until 2001 when it was acquired by the Health Service Executive. It was then transferred to the management of the Beaumont Hospital in 2004. The Health Service Executive (HSE) ( ga, Feidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte) is the publicly funded healthcare system in Ireland, responsible for the provision of health and personal social services. Raheny () is a northern suburb of Dublin, Ireland, halfway from the city centre to Howth. It is centred on a historic settlement, first documented in 570 CE ( Mervyn Archdall). Beaumont Hospital ( ga, Ospidéal Beaumont) is a large teaching hospital located in Beaumont, Dublin, Ireland. It is managed by RCSI Hospitals - one of the hospital groups established by the Health Service Executive. Its academic partner is the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. St. Joseph's Hospital (Raheny) is also under the management of the Beaumont Hospital Board. Dublin and Drogheda Railway (D&D) was a railway company in Ireland which publicly opened its 31¾ mile main line between Dublin and Drogheda in May 1844.
