Saint
In religious belief, a saint is a person who is recognized as having an exceptional degree of Q-D-Š, holiness, likeness, or closeness to God. However, the use of the term ''saint'' depends on the context and Christian denomination, denomination. In Catholic Church, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox Church, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican Communion, Anglican, Oriental Orthodox, and Lutheranism, Lutheran doctrine, all of their faithful deceased in Heaven are considered to be saints, but some are considered worthy of greater honor or emulation. Official ecclesiastical recognition, and consequently a public cult of veneration, is conferred on some denominational saints through the process of canonization in the Catholic Church or glorification in the Eastern Orthodox Church after their approval. Richard St George (died 1726)
Sir Richard St George (1657 – 28 September 1726) was an Irish landowner. He was the only surviving son of Sir George St George of Dunmore, and first cousin of George St George, 1st Baron St George.John Lodge and Mervyn Archdall, ''The Peerage of Ireland'', Dublin 1789, vol. III, p. 284 (online at google books) In June 1686 he married Anne, daughter of Colonel John Eyre of Eyre Court; they had no children and she died in November 1719. He was elected to the Irish House of Commons as Member of Parliament for Clogher in September 1703, sitting until his death. In October 1711 he succeeded to his father's estates in County Galway and on 23 November 1715 he was appointed to the Privy Council of Ireland. He died without heirs in September 1726, and his four surviving sisters became co-heiresses to the Dunmore property. Eventually his niece Elizabeth became sole heiress; she was the wife of Sir Ralph Gore, 4th Baronet and the estate thus passed to the family of the Gore baronets. ... St George Daly
St George Daly (1758 – December 1829) was an Irish judge, who had a reputation for ignorance of the law. He owed his career advancement entirely to his support for the Act of Union 1801, which did nothing to enhance his standing in the legal profession. Background He was the fifth son of James Daly MP, of Carrownakelly and Dunsandle, by his second wife Catherine Gore, daughter of Sir Ralph Gore, 4th Baronet and Elizabeth Ashe, daughter of St George Ashe, Bishop of Derry and Jane St. George. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, entered Lincoln's Inn, and was called to the Irish Bar in 1783. Denis Daly, a much respected but short-lived politician, was his eldest brother. The Dalys were a long-established landowning family in County Galway. Though traditionally Roman Catholics, and of Gaelic origin, they managed to hold onto their lands by embracing the Protestant faith and renouncing their loyalty to the Stuart dynasty. St George Caulfeild (16 September 1697 – 17 May 1778) was Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. He was a popular and respected judge, who was known in old age as "the good old man".Ball, F. Saint-George Ashe
Saint George Ashe (23 May 1871 – 24 July 1922) was a British rower who competed in Rowing at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris winning the bronze medal in the single sculls, and won the Wingfield Sculls in 1904. Ashe was born in Malta. He was a member of Thames Rowing Club and in 1900 was the only rower to represent Britain at the 1900 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France, in his first round heat, Ashe was disqualified after rowing into Raymond-Benoît and capsizing him, due to no one finishing the full course the judges decided to re-run the race, this time Ashe won by seven seconds. In the final he was third in single sculls behind Hermann Barrelet and André Gaudin but was lucky as he was in fourth place until Louis Prével fell overboard. He entered the Diamond Challenge Sculls at Henley Royal Regatta seven times and was runner up in 1901 to C V Fox. St George Ashe
St. George Ashe, D.D. (3 March 1657 – 27 February 1718) was an Irish mathematician and university administrator who, in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, served as Church of Ireland Bishop of Cloyne, Clogher and Derry, in succession. From 1657 to 1718 he was the Donegall Lecturer in Mathematics at Trinity College Dublin. He is remembered now chiefly for his alleged role in performing a secret marriage between Jonathan Swift and Esther Johnson ''(Stella)''. Thomas St George
Sir Thomas St George (1615 – 6 March 1703) was an English officer of arms who rose to the rank of Garter Principal King of Arms (1686–1703). Life He was the eldest child of the herald Sir Henry St George and his wife, Mary Dayrell, daughter of Sir Thomas Dayrell. He lived at Woodford in Essex. Around 1646 he married Clara Pymlowe (d. 1691), whose father, John Pymlowe, was a Northamptonshire rector. They had six children, including Thomas junior, who was Vicar of Bexley, and Eleanor, who married the eminent Irish judge Thomas Coote (Irish politician), Thomas Coote. St George St George, 1st Baron St George
St George St George, 1st Baron Saint George (circa 1715 – 2 January 1775), was an Irish politician. Born St George Ussher, he was the son of John Ussher by his wife Mary St George, daughter of the 1st Baron St George. He succeeded his father as Member of Parliament for Carrick in the Irish House of Commons from 1741 until he was raised to the Irish House of Lords. He was created Baron Saint George of Hatley St George, in the Peerage of Ireland, on 19 April 1763; this was a revival of the title held by his grandfather. He married Elizabeth Dominick, daughter of Sir Christopher Dominick (died 1743), a wealthy Dublin doctor who began the laying out of Dominick Street in Dublin. He died without surviving male issue, so his title became extinct. St George Gore-St George
Sir St George Gore-St George, 5th Baronet (25 June 1722 – 25 September 1746) was an Anglo-Irish politician and baronet. Born St George Gore, he was oldest son of Sir Ralph Gore, 4th Baronet and his second wife Elizabeth Ashe, daughter of St George Ashe, Bishop of Clogher. In 1733, he succeeded his father as baronet. He assumed the additional surname of St George to inherit the estates of his maternal grandfather, whose only son had died without issue in 1721. Gore-St George represented Donegal County in the Irish House of Commons from 1741 until his death in 1746. He was also appointed High Sheriff of Fermanagh in 1746. Marriage and succession On 22 September 1743, he married Anne Burton, only daughter of Francis Burton and sister of Francis Conyngham, 2nd Baron Conyngham.
