St. Galler Elite Challenge
The St. Galler Elite Challenge is an annual tournament on the men's and women's World Curling Tour. It is held annually in January at Curling Center St. Gallen in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The purse for the event is Swiss franc, CHF 7,000 for the men's event and CHF 6,600 for the women's event. Its event classification is 100. The event has been held since 2022. The 2023 event consisted of 27 teams from 10 countries. St. Gallen previously hosted the Euronics European Masters World Curling Tour event, last held in 2017. Stefanie Berset
Stefanie Berset (born c. 1996), is a Swiss curler from Bern. She currently plays third on Team Michèle Jäggi. Career Berset played for the Jana Stritt rink in juniors, but never was able to win the Swiss Junior Curling Championships. When she aged out of juniors, she joined the Binia Feltscher rink for the 2018–19 season. She and Larissa Hari replaced Franziska Kaufmann who had retired from competitive curling and Irene Schori who formed her own team. Carole Howald moved from lead to third. Team Feltscher had a pretty successful first year together although they didn't win any events. They made the finals at the Women's Masters Basel and the Swiss Women's Curling Championship and finished fourth at the Schweizer Cup. They also had five quarterfinal appearances including qualifying at the 2018 Tour Challenge Tier 2 Grand Slam of Curling event. Irene Schori
Irene Schori (born 4 December 1983) is a Swiss curler from Bremgarten. She currently plays third on Team Michèle Jäggi. Career Schori was named to the Swiss Olympic Team in 2010. She served as the alternate for Mirjam Ott's team in Vancouver. They just missed winning a medal, finishing fourth. Schori has participated in both the 2008 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, 2008 and the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, 2009 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships with partner Toni Müller, and has taken gold at both of these championships. Schori and Müller were the heavy favorites to win in the 2010 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, but were eliminated by the China in an extra end in the quarterfinals.
