St. Alcuin House
St. Alcuin House Seminary is a seminary in Blaine, Minnesota, United States. Dr John L Simons is the seminary's Chancellor. Overview The Benedictine Order of Saint Alcuin founded the seminary as the official seminary of the Communion of Anglican Churches International (CACI) and the Province of St. Alcuin. The seminary provides educational programmes in theology and philosophy to prepare people for sacred ministry. Its mission statement is "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ" (Eph 4, 11-12). The seminary offers other ministries and programs for students and alumni, including the Prayer and Healing Ministry (PHM), the Emmanuel Mission (EM) and the Order of Saint Alcuin (OSA). Blaine, Minnesota
Blaine is a suburban city in Anoka and Ramsey counties in the State of Minnesota, United States. Once a rural town, Blaine's population has increased significantly in the last 60 years. For several years, Blaine led the Twin Cities metro region in new home construction. The population was 70,222 at the 2020 census. The city is located mainly in Anoka County, and is part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. Interstate 35W, U.S. Highway 10, and Minnesota State Highway 65 are three of the main routes in the city. Alcuin of York (; la, Flaccus Albinus Alcuinus; 735 – 19 May 804) – also called Ealhwine, Alhwin, or Alchoin – was a scholar, clergyman, poet, and teacher from York, Northumbria. He was born around 735 and became the student of Ecgbert of York, Archbishop Ecgbert at York. At the invitation of Charlemagne, he became a leading scholar and teacher at the Carolingian dynasty, Carolingian court, where he remained a figure in the 780s and 790s. Before that, he was also a court chancellor in Aachen.
