Sriniwas Tiwari
Shriyut Sriniwas Tiwari (17 September 1926 – 19 January 2018) was a politician from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India. He had a long career in Madhya Pradesh state politics. He was a six-time member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For most of his political career, he was a member of the Indian National Congress, and had stints in Socialist Party and Samyukta Socialist Party in his younger days. He also served as a member of the Vindhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly between 1952 and 1956, before it was merged into Madhya Pradesh. He was bitterly opposed to the merger and advocated the separation of Vindhya Pradesh region from Madhya Pradesh during his political career. He was known as the ''White Tiger'' of Madhya Pradesh. He lost the election from Sirmour in the 2008 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. Rewa District
Rewa district is a district of the Madhya Pradesh state in central India. The city of Rewa is the district headquarters. Rewa is known for world famous beetle nut toys. Rewa is also known as the 'Land of White Tigers' as the first White Tiger was discovered here by Maharaja of the province, Martand Singh in 1951 in the nearby jungle of Govindgarh. In the memory of Maharaja Martand singh Ju deo and the first white tiger mohan the very first white tiger safari has been opened in 2018 in mukundpur Rewa. The Vindhya Range (also known as Vindhyachal) () is a complex, discontinuous chain of mountain ridges, hill ranges, highlands and plateau escarpments in west-central India. Technically, the Vindhyas do not form a single mountain range in the geological sense. The exact extent of the Vindhyas is loosely defined, and historically, the term covered a number of distinct hill systems in central India, including the one that is now known as the Satpura Range. Today, the term principally refers to the escarpment and its hilly extensions that runs north of and roughly parallel to the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh.
