Sri Lokanath
''Sri Lokanath'' is a 1960 Indian Odia-language film directed by Prafulla Sengupta and based on a story by Aswini Kumar Ghosh. This Indian socio-fantasy film won a National Film Award in 1960, and was the 11th Odia film produced under Ruprang Pvt. Ltd., Oriya Film Industry, Retrieved 18 February 2011. It was the first Odia film to receive a National Award. Plot Dr. Ajay Patanayak, a doctor by profession doesn't believe in the existence of God. His wife Basanti, having no child, has immense faith in God. she is also deeply attached to his brother-in-law Bijay. Laxmi, a neighbor, has a love interest with Bijay. Bijay visits Puri's Sri Lokanath Temple for a blessing with a hope that his sister-in-law gets a son. Basanti becomes pregnant and delivers a son. Dukhiram Swain
Dukhiram Swain (died 18 January 1995) was an Indian film and television actor. He was one of the most popular villains in Odia cinema and played a variety of roles most notably as the antagonist in many Odia films and various roles in television serials. He was considered to be one amongst the club of natural actors. He was won the National Film Award for Shesha Shrabana (1976), the Orissa State Film Awards, Orissa State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and several "Best Villain" awards from State Film Awards and the Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi. He was honoured with the Jayadeva Purashkar of Odisha. Life and career Late Dukhiram Swain was born in Daraba, Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha. Odia Language
Odia (, ISO: , ; formerly rendered Oriya ) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the official language in Odisha (formerly rendered Orissa), where native speakers make up 82% of the population, and it is also spoken in parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Odia is one of the many official languages of India; it is the official language of Odisha and the second official language of Jharkhand. Balakrushna Das
Sangeeta Sudhakara Balakrushna Dash () was a veteran Guru of Odissi music. One of the chief disciples of the legend Pt Gokul Chandra Srichandan of Kendrapada, Dash worked variously as a vocalist, composer and music director. He received the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi award in 1975-76 for Odissi Vocal. He was an Odissi classical music teacher in the GKCM Odissi Research Centre. Balakrushna Dash started his music career as a singer of Odissi classical music (Odissi, Chhanda, Champu and other facets) at AIR, Calcutta in the year 1944. Later he started working as music director in films. His first film as a music director was '' Kedar Gouri'' in 1954. He directed music in 20 films and hundreds of non-film albums including Odissi, Drama, Theatre and music programs for the AIR, Cuttack. Sandhya Mukherjee
Geetashree Sandhya Mukherjee (also spelled Mukhopadhyay; 4 October 1931 – 15 February 2022) was an Indian playback singer and musician, specialising in Bengali music. She received Banga Bibhushan, the highest civilian honour of the Indian state of West Bengal in 2011. She also won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her songs in the films ''Jay Jayanti'' and '' Nishi Padma'' in the year 1970. The 8th National Film Awards, then known as State Awards for Films, presented by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to felicitate the best of Indian Cinema released in 1960. Ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 31 March 1961 and awards were given by then Vice-President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
