Sri Lanka At The 2016 Summer Paralympics
Sri Lanka competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. The Sri Lankan team consisted of nine athletes in three sports. Track and field athlete Anil Prasanna Jayalath was the flagbearer for the country during the 2016 Summer Paralympics opening ceremony, opening ceremony. Amara Lallwala Palliyagurunnans (born 1986), also known as Amara Indumathi, is a Sri Lankan female Paralympic athlete. She competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Athletics events at the 2016 Summer Paralympics were held in the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 2016. 177 events were held across both genders where 1,100 athletes competed. Archery At The 2016 Summer Paralympics – Men's Individual Recurve Open
The Men's individual recurve open archery discipline at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was contested from September 10 to September 13. Ranking rounds took place on 10 September, while knockout rounds continued on September 13. In the ranking rounds each archer shot 72 arrows, and was seeded according to score. In the knock-out stages each archer shot three arrows per set against an opponent, scoring two points for a won set and one for a draw.
