Squirrel Records is a UK-based record company based in Trumpington, Cambridgeshire, founded in 1994 by Simon Squirelle, former manager of the 1990s artists Candyman, The U-Krew, and the Funhouse presenter Pat Sharp. Trumpington, Cambridgeshire
Trumpington is a village and parish to the south of Cambridge, England. The village is an electoral ward of the City of Cambridge and a ward of South Cambridgeshire District Council. The 2011 Census recorded the ward's population as 8,034. The village was a separate parish from the Anglo-Saxon era until the 20th century. In 1912 all of the land north of Long Road was transferred to Cambridge, and in 1934 most of the remaining land, including all of the village, was also given over to Cambridge. Only , almost uninhabited, were transferred to Haslingfield parish. The Cambridge Local Plan 2006 took land around the village out of the green belt and paved the way for an urban extension due for completion in 2023. John B. Shaffer III (born June 25, 1968), known by his stage name Candyman, is an American rapper and record producer. He is best known for his hit single " Knockin' Boots". Candyman appears in the front row on N.W.A. and the Posse's 1987 album cover. Biography Candyman was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, where he attended Washington Preparatory High School. Manson's friend, rapper/producer Sir Jinx, introduced Manson to Dr. Dre, for whom Manson produced a three-song demo. Candyman was featured backing Tone Lōc before he earned his own solo stint. His first recording as solo artist was the 1989 12" EP ''Hip Hop Addict'', produced by Candyman his late friend Johnny "J". The U-Krew
The U-Krew was an American R&B/ hip-hop music quintet from Portland, Oregon, that saw its greatest success in 1990. The members of the U-Krew were Kevin Morse (lead vocals), Larry Bell (producer, keyboard/drum programmer), Lavell Alexander (turntables), James McClendon, and Hakim Rashad Muhammad (rap vocals). They were originally billed as The Untouchable Krew when they were formed in October 1984. After shortening their name to The U-Krew, the band released its only album in 1989, eponymously titled ''The U-Krew'' on Enigma Records. The album peaked at number 93 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and included the hit singles, "If U Were Mine" and "Let Me Be Your Lover", which reached number 24 and number 68 respectively on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1990. A funhouse or fun house is an amusement facility found on amusement park and funfair midways and is where patrons encounter and interact with various devices designed to surprise, challenge, and amuse them. Unlike thrill rides or dark rides, funhouses are participatory attractions, where visitors enter and move around under their own power. Incorporating aspects of a playful obstacle course, they seek to distort conventional perceptions and startle people with unstable and unpredictable physical circumstances within an atmosphere of wacky whimsicality. Patrick Sharpin, known professionally as Pat Sharp (born 25 October 1961), is an English radio presenter, television presenter and DJ. In the UK, he is known mainly for his work on the children's ITV programme ''Fun House'', and his extensive radio career. In mainland Europe, he was better known in the 1980s as one of the Sky Channel's VJs and for presenting Coca-Cola Eurochart Top 50 and Nescafé UK Top 50. Katrina And The Waves
Katrina and the Waves were a British rock band widely known for the 1985 hit " Walking on Sunshine". They also won the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Love Shine a Light". History Pre-history (1975–1980) The band's earliest incarnation was as the Waves, a group that played in and around Cambridge, from 1975 to 1977. The Waves featured guitarist Kimberley Rew and drummer Alex Cooper. This incarnation of the Waves never issued any recordings, and broke up when Rew left to join the Soft Boys.
