Squirm
''Squirm'' is a 1976 American natural horror film written and directed by Jeff Lieberman, starring Don Scardino, Patricia Pearcy, R. A. Dow, Jean Sullivan, Peter MacLean, Fran Higgins and William Newman. The film takes place in the fictional town of Fly Creek, Georgia, which becomes infested with carnivorous worms after an electrical storm. Lieberman's script is based on a childhood incident in which his brother fed electricity into a patch of earth, causing earthworms to rise to the surface. Most of the financing came from Broadway producers Edgar Lansbury and Joseph Beruh. Millions of worms were used over the five-week filming in Port Wentworth, Georgia; worms were brought in from Maine to augment local supplies. Makeup artist Rick Baker provided the special effects, using prosthetics for the first time in his career. Patricia Pearcy
Patricia Sue Pearcy is an American film, stage, and television actress. She began her career in theatre, appearing on Broadway and in local theatre companies in Connecticut and Kentucky before making her film debut in Monte Hellman's ''Cockfighter'' (1974). She had supporting parts in ''The Goodbye Girl'' (1977) and in several television series. She also appeared in several horror films, including ''Squirm'' (1976) and ''Delusion'' (1981). Jeff Lieberman (born October 16, 1947) is an American film director and screenwriter, known for his cult horror and thriller films ''Squirm'' (1976), '' Blue Sunshine'' (1978) and '' Just Before Dawn'' (1981). Donald Joseph Scardino (born February 17, 1949) is an American television director and producer and a former actor. Career Acting Scardino was born in New York City, to jazz musician parents, Dorothy Denny Scardino and Charles Scardino. His first Broadway credit was as an understudy in ''The Playroom'' in 1965. Additional Broadway acting credits include ''Johnny No-Trump'', ''Godspell'', and ''King of Hearts''. Jean Sullivan
Jean Sullivan (May 26, 1923 – February 27, 2003) was an American actress and dancer. She acted in film, television and stage productions, and danced both flamenco and ballet, the latter with the American Ballet Theatre. Biography Sullivan was born on May 26, 1923, in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Army Colonel Alexander Sullivan and Claire Cardon Sullivan. She had two younger sisters and a younger brother. William Newman (actor)
William MacLeod Newman (June 15, 1934 – May 27, 2015) was an American film, television and theater actor. His professional credits include ''Mrs. Doubtfire'' in 1993. Biography Newman was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 15, 1934. He moved to Seattle, Washington, with his family in 1937. Edgar George McIldowie Lansbury (born 12 January 1930) is a British-born Irish-American theatre, film, and television producer. Joseph Beruh
Joseph Beruh (1924 – October 30, 1989) was an American theatrical producer of Broadway and Off-Broadway plays and musicals. He worked frequently with Edgar Lansbury as co-producer. For 15 years, he was the general manager of the Sheridan Square Playhouse. He also produced films and was an occasion actor. Beruh was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Dental radiographs, commonly known as X-rays, are radiographs used to diagnose hidden dental structures, malignant or benign masses, bone loss, and cavities. A radiographic image is formed by a controlled burst of X-ray radiation which penetrates oral structures at different levels, depending on varying anatomical densities, before striking the film or sensor.
