Nick Matthew defeated James Willstrop 11–6, 11–7, 11–7 in 66 minutes to win the gold medal. Squash (sport)
Squash is a racket-and- ball sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. There are about 20 million people who play squash regularly world-wide in over 185 countries. The governing body of Squash, the World Squash Federation (WSF), is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), but the sport is not part of the Olympic Games, despite a number of applications. Siddharth Suchde (born 20 January 1985, in Mumbai) is a professional squash player from India. He grew up in India, Scotland and Switzerland. He studied in Cathedral School in Bombay and completed his high school education from Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh, Scotland. Later, he attended Harvard University from 2003-2007 as an undergraduate, where he received a degree in Economics. The year that he graduated from Harvard, Suchde became National Champion of college level squash in the US, despite the title had eluding him during the first three years of his undergraduate life. Joseph S. Chapman (born 22 July 1990 in Bristol, United Kingdom) is a squash player who represents the British Virgin Islands in regional Games as well as at the CAC Games and Commonwealth Games Melbourne 2006, Delhi 2010, Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018. In Melbourne 2006 he became the youngest player to compete in squash. In Delhi 2010 he was the nation's flag-bearer. Campbell Grayson (born 4 March 1986 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a retired professional squash player who represented New Zealand. He reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 24 in February 2020. Early life and education Grayson first picked up tennis at the age of six, along with golf and cricket.
