Spyfall, Part 2
"Spyfall" is the two-part premiere of the Doctor Who (series 12), twelfth series of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'', first broadcast on BBC One on 1 and 5 January 2020. It was written by showrunner and executive producer Chris Chibnall. The first episode was directed by Jamie Magnus Stone, and the second by Lee Haven Jones. In the episodes, the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and her companions Graham O'Brien (Bradley Walsh), Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), and Yasmin Khan (Doctor Who), Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) are enlisted by MI6 to investigate a former agent and an alien threat. The episodes mark the return of both the The Master (Doctor Who), Master and Gallifrey, last seen in "The Doctor Falls" (2017) and "Hell Bent (Doctor Who), Hell Bent" (2015), respectively. Jodie Whittaker
Jodie Auckland Whittaker (born 17 June 1982) is an English actress. She is best known for her roles on television as Beth Latimer in ''Broadchurch'' (2013–2017) and the Thirteenth Doctor in ''Doctor Who'' (2017–2022, 2025). She came to prominence in her 2006 feature film debut ''Venus (2006 film), Venus'', for which she received British Independent Film Awards, British Independent Film Award and Satellite Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture#Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (1996–2010), Satellite Award nominations. She was later praised for her roles in the science fiction film ''Attack the Block'' (2011) and the ''Black Mirror'' episode "The Entire History of You" (2011). In 2017, Whittaker became the thirteenth lead actor to play the Doctor in ''Doctor Who''; she formally assumed the role from Peter Capaldi in "Twice Upon a Time (Doctor Who), Twice Upon a Time".
