Springfield Storm
The Springfield Storm was an American soccer team which played in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid for one season, in 2005, after which the franchise was relocated to Glendora, California to become the Los Angeles Storm. They played their home games primarily at Harrison Stadium on the campus of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, but also occasionally played at Cooper Field, also in Springfield. The team's colors were white, blue and yellow. Year-by-year Competition history Springfield Storm were formed by local businessmen Chris Hanlon and Doug Fiester and former professional players Armen Tonianse and Brett Thomas, and entered the PDL in 2005. Playing out of Harrison Stadium on the campus of Drury University, the Storm enjoyed a fairly decent year of competition. Red Bull Arena is a soccer-specific stadium in Harrison, New Jersey that is home to the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer and NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League. Des Moines Menace is an American soccer team based in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. Founded in 1994, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The Menace have had sustained success in USL League Two during their tenure, claiming the USL League Two Championship in the 2021 campaign. The Menace also hold three regular season championships, coming in the 2018, 2019, and 2021 campaigns respectively. The team aims to join USL Championship in 2024. Saint Louis FC U23 were an American soccer team based in Fenton, Missouri, United States. Founded in 2006, the team played in the Premier Development League (PDL), now USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Heartland Division of the Central Conference. The team played its home games at the Cooper Sports Complex, where they had played since 2011. The team's colors are maroon and sky blue. Saint Louis FC purchased the team on May 16, 2016 and renamed Saint Louis FC U23. Operations were believed to have ceased in 2018, but nothing is known at this point.
