Lane County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 382,971, making it the fourth-most populous county in Oregon. The county seat is Eugene. Springfield is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Located in the Southern Willamette Valley, it is within the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Goshen, Oregon
Goshen is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located at the junction of Oregon Route 58, Oregon Route 99, and Interstate 5. History In 1853, there was stagecoach stop at what is now Goshen, on the stage line that led from Oregon City to the gold country in Jacksonville. The Goshen area was settled in the 1870s. Goshen post office was established in September 1874, with John Handsaker as first postmaster. In the Bible, Goshen was the pastoral land in lower Egypt occupied by the Israelites before the Exodus. An author for the ''Lane County Historian'' wrote that Goshen was named by John Jacob Hampton, although ''Oregon: End of the Trail'' says that it was named by Elijah Bristow. Mohawk, Oregon
Mohawk is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States, on the Mohawk River (Oregon), Mohawk River, about seven miles upstream from Springfield, Oregon, Springfield. When a post office was established at this locale in 1862, it was named "Mohawk" after the river. The post office operated intermittently, and after being converted to a rural station in 1958, it was finally terminated in 1961. When the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, Southern Pacific Railroad established a station on the Marcola, Oregon, Marcola line there, it was named "Donna". Walterville, Oregon
Walterville is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located east of Springfield on Oregon Route 126 near the McKenzie River. Walterville post office was established in 1875 and named by the first postmaster and prominent Central Oregon rancher, George Millican, for his son Walter. The town of Millican in Deschutes County was named for George Millican. Members of the Millican family have lived in the area since the 1860s and the Millican Century Farm is still in operation. Walterville Pond, on Eugene Water & Electric Board's (EWEB) Walterville Canal, is a water storage pond that is also used for fishing and birdwatching. Academy of Arts and Academics (A3) is a public high school in downtown Springfield, Oregon, United States. The school allows students the chance to pursue an education in the art form of their choice, from visual to theatrical to music composition to many others. The school encourages students to integrate their arts into their academic projects. At the end of each semester, students showcase their projects in a "Confluence".
