Spray (liquid Drop)
A spray is a dynamic collection of drops dispersed in a gas. The process of forming a spray is known as atomization. A spray nozzle is the device used to generate a spray. The two main uses of sprays are to distribute material over a cross-section and to generate liquid surface area. There are thousands of applications in which sprays allow material to be used most efficiently. The spray characteristics required must be understood in order to select the most appropriate technology, optimal device and size. Formation Spray atomization can be formed by several methods. The most common method is through a spray nozzle which typically has a fluid passage that is acted upon by different mechanical forces that atomize the liquid. The first atomization nozzle was invented by Thomas A. DeVilbiss of Toledo, Ohio in the late 1800s His invention was bulb atomizer that used pressure to impinge upon a liquid, breaking the liquid into a fine mist. Spray formation has taken on several forms, th ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Spray (band)
Spray is a synth-pop duo from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, consisting of siblings Jenny McLaren and Ricardo Autobahn. Following the demise of their previous band, the Cuban Boys (famous for their Hampster Dance record and John Peel sessions), McLaren and Autobahn released the album ''Living In Neon'' on Ninthwave Records in the United States. This was followed in 2003 by the extended single "I Am Gothic". A new album, ''Children of a Laser God'' was released online in 2006, along with the single "Run With Us", a cover of the theme tune of the popular 1980's cartoon ''The Raccoons'' with the "Michael Trenfield" remix as the main single accompanied with the original version and remixes from JKZ, Absorb, FMU and Diskowarp. After a hiatus, the duo returned in 2010 with the single "Everything's Better With Muppets", accompanied by a popular YouTube video containing excerpts from The Muppet Show lipsynching with the song. Amongst other projects, Spray have been partially res ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Automatic Firearm
An automatic firearm is an auto-loading firearm that continuously chambers and fires rounds when the trigger mechanism is actuated. The action of an automatic firearm is capable of harvesting the excess energy released from a previous discharge to feed a new ammunition round into the chamber, and then ignite the propellant and discharge the projectile (either bullet, shot, or slug) by delivering a hammer or striker impact on the primer. If ''both'' the feeding and ignition procedures are automatically cycled, the weapon will be considered "fully automatic" and will fire continuously as long as the trigger is kept depressed and the ammunition feeding (either from a magazine or a belt) remains available. In contrast, a firearm is considered " semi-automatic" if it only automatically cycles to chamber new rounds (i.e. self-loading) but does not automatically fire off the shot unless the user manually resets (usually by releasing) and re-actuates the trigger, so only one ... Spray (mathematics)
In differential geometry, a spray is a vector field ''H'' on the tangent bundle ''TM'' that encodes a quasilinear second order system of ordinary differential equations on the base manifold ''M''. Usually a spray is required to be homogeneous in the sense that its integral curves ''t''→ΦHt(ξ)∈''TM'' obey the rule ΦHt(λξ)=ΦHλt(ξ) in positive reparameterizations. If this requirement is dropped, ''H'' is called a semispray. Sprays arise naturally in Riemannian and Finsler geometry as the geodesic sprays whose integral curves are precisely the tangent curves of locally length minimizing curves. Semisprays arise naturally as the extremal curves of action integrals in Lagrangian mechanics. Generalizing all these examples, any (possibly nonlinear) connection on ''M'' induces a semispray ''H'', and conversely, any semispray ''H'' induces a torsion-free nonlinear connection on ''M''. If the original connection is torsion-free it coincides with the connection induced by ''H'', a ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

USS Spray II (SP-308)
USS ''Spray II'' (SP-308) was the proposed name and designation for a United States Navy World War I patrol vessel that the Navy never actually took over. ''Spray II'' was built as a wooden-hulled civilian launch in 1911 by Charles L. Seabury and Company at Morris Heights in the Bronx, New York. On 9 May 1917, she was ordered delivered to the U.S. Navy for World War I section patrol duty, but the Navy never actually took control of her and she remained in civilian hands. ''Spray II'' was stricken from the Navy List in late 1918. ''Spray II'' should not be confused with USS ''Spray'' (ID-2491), a naval trawler and minesweeper A minesweeper is a small warship designed to remove or detonate naval mines. USS Spray (ID-2491)
USS ''Spray'' (ID-2491) was a United States Navy trawler which served as a minesweeper and was in commission from 1918 to 1919. ''Spray'' was built as a civilian fishing trawler in 1905 by the Fore River Shipbuilding Company at Quincy, Massachusetts. In 1917, the Russian Empire purchased ''Spray'' and the trawlers ''Foam'' and ''Ripple'' from the Bay State Fishing Company of Boston, Massachusetts, intending to place them in Imperial Russian Navy service during World War I, but the outbreak of the Russian Revolution that year prevented the three ships from leaving the United States. On 29 May 1918, the U.S. Navy chartered all three ships from the Russian Government for World War I use. ''Spray'' was assigned Identification Number (Id. No.) 2491, placed under the control of the Commandant, 3rd Naval District, and commissioned on 1 June 1918 as USS ''Spray'' (ID-2491). ''Spray'' operated in the 3rd Naval District for the remainder of World War I and into the months immediatel ... Spray (sailing Vessel)
''Spray'' was a sailboat weighing nine tons that Joshua Slocum, a 19th-century Canadian-American seaman and author, rebuilt and sailed around the world solo. On the morning of April 24, 1895, the ''Spray'', with Slocum at the helm, departed Boston Harbor. On June 27, 1898, Slocum sailed the ''Spray'' into the harbor at Newport, Rhode Island, becoming the first man known to have sailed around the world alone. On November 14, 1909, Slocum set sail from Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts aboard the ''Spray'', bound for South America and the headwaters of the Orinoco River. He was never heard from again, and no trace of the ''Spray'' was ever found. History In 1892, Captain Ebenezer Pierce, offered Slocum a ship that "wants some repairs". Slocum went to Fairhaven, Massachusetts to find that the "ship" was a rotting old oyster sloop named ''Spray'', propped up in a field. Despite the major overhaul of the ship, Slocum kept her name ''Spray'', noting, "Now, it is a law in Lloyd's that ... JIT Spraying
JIT spraying is a class of computer security exploit that circumvents the protection of address space layout randomization (ASLR) and data execution prevention (DEP) by exploiting the behavior of just-in-time compilation. It has been used to exploit the PDF format and Adobe Flash. A just-in-time compiler (JIT) by definition produces code as its data. Since the purpose is to produce executable data, a JIT compiler is one of the few types of programs that can not be run in a no-executable-data environment. Because of this, JIT compilers are normally exempt from data execution prevention. A JIT spray attack does heap spraying with the generated code. To produce exploit code from JIT, an idea from Dion Blazakis; is used. The input program, usually JavaScript or ActionScript, typically contains numerous constant values that can be erroneously executed as code. For example, the Exclusive or, XOR operation could be used: [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
