Edward Spragge
Sir Edward Spragge (name also written as Spragg or Sprague) (circa 1620 – 21 August 1673) was an Irish-born English admiral of the Royal Navy. He was a fiery, brilliantly accomplished seaman who fought in many great actions after the restoration of King Charles II in 1660. Life Spragge was son of Lichfield Spragge of Roscommon, Ireland, by his wife Mary Legge (sister of William Legge), and grandson of John Spragge, who came to Ireland in the Elizabethan period. His father was killed in about 1645 during the Civil War when Royalist Governor of Roscommon.Article by J.D. Davies. Edward Spragge is said to have been a slave in Algiers before serving in the English Civil War from 1648 in Prince Rupert's royalist naval squadron. He remained loyal to the Stuarts after the war. John Godfrey Spragge
John Godfrey Spragge (September 6, 1806 – April 20, 1884) was a Canadian lawyer and judge. Born in New Cross, Lewisham, England, he emigrated to Upper Canada in 1820 with his father, Joseph Spragge. He was called to the bar of Upper Canada in 1828 and practised law in York (now Toronto). In May 1881, he was appointed chief justice of the Court of Appeal for Ontario (the title was changed later in the year to chief justice of Ontario). He served until his death in 1884. Spragge as a justice on Ontario Court of Appeal presided over ''McLaren v Caldwell'' where he held that Ontario law made all streams, whether naturally or artificially floatable, public waterways. On appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal's decision was reversed on the grounds that: the streams in question were not floatable without the aid of artificial improvements, the appellant had at common law the exclusive right to use his property as he pleased, and to prevent respondents from using ...

Shirley Spragge
Shirley Spragge (July 27, 1929 – August 11, 1995) was a Canadian archivist and academic who served as the head of the Queen's University Archives from 1992 to 1994. Early life and education Spragge was born July 22, 1929, in Toronto, Ontario. She completed a degree in history at the University of Toronto in 1952. While there she was a member of various clubs including modern history, music and athletics. After studying archives administration at Public Archives of Canada, she completed an MA in history at Queen's University in 1974. Spragge obtained her PhD at Queen's in 1986. Career Spragge worked at the Cornell University Archives in the 1970s. She joined the Queen's University Archives in 1979, where she worked while completing her PhD. She was named Queen's University Archivist in 1992, succeeding Anne MacDermaid. Spragge, Ontario
The North Shore is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario, located in the Algoma District. The township had a population of 497 in the Canada 2016 Census. It is along the north shore of the North Channel of Lake Huron (hence its name), with its main communities all along Highway 17. Communities Algoma Mills Algoma Mills is located between the North Channel and Lauzon Lake, near the township's western boundary with Blind River. The Algoma Mills Water Aerodrome serves the community. Moiles Mills Moiles Mills is a ghost town. It was established as a lumber town in April 1889 and burned down in 1918.
