Sportsklubben Stag
Sportsklubben Stag is a Norwegian sports club that does football, handball, and gymnastics. The club was founded on 17 June 1945 after a merger between Stavern Idrettsforening and Agnes Idrettsforening, hence the name Stag. Football was the first activity in SPKL Stag. As the first club in the district, the club took up handball in the summer of 1945. In 1969, the gymnastics group joined. The club has about 1000 members divided into the activities football, handball and gymnastics. The club's colors are green and white. Football group in Stag reached their top flight in the 1960s when, after two promotions in a row, they played in the Klasse B (second highest division) in 1969. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a type of sport that includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, dedication and endurance. Reidar Sundby
Reidar Sundby (17 October 1926 – 27 October 2014) was a Norwegian footballer who played as a forward. He started his career in Stag, and joined Larvik Turn in 1952. With his team he won the 1952–53 Norwegian Main League, the 1954–55 Norwegian Main League and the 1955–56 Norwegian Main League—and became top goalscorer in the 1958–59 Norwegian Main League. He scored 71 goals in 110 first-tier games for Larvik Turn. He was capped once for Norway, in 1954, and scored in the game against Sweden. He later coached Stag. He died in October 2014. Tom Sundby
Tom Sundby (born 15 December 1960, Larvik) is a former Norwegian footballer. A midfielder who scored 6 goals in 39 caps for the national team, he participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics. His father Reidar Sundby was a football player. The elder brother Reidar Sundby jr also and once went to Twente with his friend Hallvar Thoresen. Larvik
Larvik () is a List of cities in Norway, town and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark Counties of Norway, county, Norway.
