Tricity, Poland
Tricity, or Tri-City ( pl, Trójmiasto; , german: Dreistadt; , csb, Trzëgard; ) is a metropolitan area in Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, consisting of three contiguous coastal cities in Pomerelia forming a row on the coastline of the Gdańsk Bay, Baltic Sea, namely the cities of Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot, along with other cities and towns in their vicinity. In 2021, the three core cities were inhabited by 749 786 people, while the Tricity together with its metropolitan area had a combined population of between 1 and 1.5 million, depending on the definition of the boundaries of the latter. The designation has been used informally or semi-formally only. A strategic cooperation declaration, the Tricity Charter (Polish: ''Karta Trójmiasta''), was signed by the three city mayors on 28 March 2007. SG OrPo Danzig
SG OrPo Danzig was a German association football club from the city of Danzig, West Prussia (today Gdańsk, Poland). It was established in 1920 as ''Sportverein Schutzpolizei Danzig'' as the sports club of the city's police force. Through the 1920s the club made regular appearances in the playoff rounds of the regional Baltenverband, but did not enjoy any success there. In 1934, ''SV'' became part of the Gauliga Ostpreussen and from 1935 to 1938 played within the Gauliga Danzig which was a division of the Ostpreussen league. The team was renamed ''Polizei SV Danzig'' in 1939 and took part that year in the opening round of the Tschammerpokal, predecessor to the current-day DFB-Pokal (German Cup), where they were put out 2–3 by ''Viktoria Stolp''. Olimpia Poznań
Olimpia Poznań is a Polish multi-sport club from Poznań. It has athletics, archery, basketball, boxing, kendo, judo, swimming, tennis, and triathlon sections. The sections are formally independent of each other, sharing the history and name only. The football section, once a top-flight team for many years folded in 2005. Olimpia-Lechia Gdańsk was a short lived Polish association football club, created by a merger of Lechia Gdańsk and Olimpia Poznań, which played in the Ekstraklasa for the 1995-96 Ekstraklasa, 1995–96 season. History Pre-merger Olimpia Poznań Olimpia Poznań was created in 1945, owned by the Milicja Obywatelska, Citizen's Militia. Lechia-Polonia Gdańsk is a now defunct team which played in the Polish second division from 1998 to 2001. The team was created by a merger of Lechia Gdańsk and Polonia Gdańsk. History Pre-merger Polonia Gdańsk Polonia Gdańsk were founded in 1945 as NS Nit Gdańsk. Ekstraliga (women's Football)
The Ekstraliga ( en, Extra League) is the top Polish league for women's association football teams. The league's first season was in 1979–80. Initially, it was called ''I liga polska kobiet''. The first title holder was Czarni Sosnowiec. In 2005, the league was renamed to ''Ekstraliga kobiet''. The winner of the league qualifies for the UEFA Women's Champions League. Relegated teams descend to the I liga. 2020/21 clubs Source Format Up to the 2009–10 season with six teams in the league, the teams played each other four times per season.
