Sportpark De Westmaat
Sportpark De Westmaat is a sporting complex located in Spakenburg, Netherlands. It is home to football clubs IJsselmeervogels and SV Spakenburg. The complex has eight fields. There are two grandstands around the main field. There are also indoor facilities for bad weather. The "Red" side The "red" side of the complex is home to ametuer club IJsselmeervogels. In the 2016–17 Derde Divisie, the club averaged about 2,000 fans per game as they secured promotion to the Tweede Divisie. In addition the "red" side has 3 other fields. Main stadium The main stadium has a capacity of 9,000; making it one of the largest in the Tweede Divisie. There is also an LED board where sponsors of IJsselmeervogels can advertise by means of a message on LED boarding. This was unique in amateur football at the time of installation. IJsselmeervogels () is a Dutch amateur football club. With seven national amateur titles IJsselmeervogels is the most successful amateur club in the Netherlands. The Reds come from Bunschoten – Spakenburg, in the Dutch province Utrecht, on the shores of the former IJsselmeer lake. IJsselmeervogels is placed first on the all time rankings, measured by the number of points scored in games at the highest amateur level in Saturday league football. SV Spakenburg
SV Spakenburg is a Dutch football club based in Bunschoten. It was founded in 1931 and currently competes in the Tweede Divisie. It shares a football rivalry with IJsselmeervogels that is also from Bunschoten-Spakenburg. History The club was founded on 15 August 1931 as ''Stormvogels'' and soon renamed ''Windvogels''. In 1947 it merged with a local gymnastics team to become Sportverening Spakenburg. It joined the Eerste Klasse in the 1970–71 season under coach Joop van Basten, father of legendary Dutch striker Marco van Basten, and clinched their first league title in 1974. Spakenburg
Spakenburg is a Dutch village north of Bunschoten. Spakenburg is formally called Bunschoten-Spakenburg since its fusion with Bunschoten. The village lies south of the IJsselmeer in the municipality Bunschoten, Utrecht. It is one of the few places left in the Netherlands where some women still wear local traditional clothes. In the 20th century, the two villages have grown quickly, and since about 1965 they form one single town, officially named Bunschoten. The 2016–17 Derde Divisie season is the first edition of the new Dutch fourth tier, formerly called Topklasse, since the restructuring of the league system in the summer of 2016. This change in the league system was approved in a KNVB assembly in December 2014. Tweede Divisie ( en, Second Division) is the highest amateur (and historically the lowest professional) football league in the Netherlands. It was established in 1956, together with the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie. Between 1956 and 1960 and between 1962 and 1966, the league consisted of two divisions, Tweede Divisie A and Tweede Divisie B. The league was disbanded in 1971. The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands.
