Sportivo Dock Sud
Club Sportivo Dock Sud is an Argentine football club based in the Dock Sud district of Avellaneda Partido, Greater Buenos Aires. The club is mostly known for its football team, which currently plays in Primera C Metropolitana, the regionalised fourth division of the Argentine football league system. History A club called ''Club Atlético Dock Sud'' was founded in 1914, but it was soon dissolved. In 1916 the same individuals formed a new club named ''Sportivo Dock Sud'', which has continued since then. Dock Sud played at the top division of Argentine football, Primera División, from 1922 and 1926, being its best campaign in 1924 when the team finished 3rd. The squad returned to the first division in 1933 and 1934, when it participated in the AAF Amateur league. Dock Sud's finest achievement to date was winning the 1933 amateur AAF league title. Primera B Metropolitana is one of two professional leagues that form the third level of the Argentine football league system. The division is made up of 17 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires. The 1933 Primera División was the 42nd season of top-flight football in Argentina. It continued with both associations organising tournaments. The official AFA season did not have relegations at the end of the championship while Sportivo Acassuso made its debut in Primera. On the other hand, the dissident professional league (LAF) organised its 3rd. championship, in which relegation took place for the first time, with 5 teams sent to the second division. The amateur AFA season was won by Dock Sud, achieving its first title in Primera División, with Alfonso Lorenzo (Barracas Central) being the topscorer with 16 goals. The 1926 Argentine Primera División was the 35th season of top-flight football in Argentina. The AFA championship began on April 18 and ended on January 16, 1927. The AAm season began on April 4 and ended on November 21. All Boys, Colegiales, El Porvenir, Nueva Chicago, Sportivo Barracas and Temperley moved to rival league Asociación Amateurs when most of fixtures had been disputed.
