Sportivnaya (Novosibirsk Metro)
Sportivnaya (russian: Спортивная) is an under construction station on the Leninskaya Line of the Novosibirsk Metro, in the city's Kirovsky District. The station is being constructed between the stations Rechnoy Vokzal and Studencheskaya. Background The station had been part of the original plans of the Novosibirsk Metro, and although construction had begun at the time, it was not completed. The remains of the earlier attempt were later torn down. The station's opening has been delayed multiple times. The station was reportedly 92 percent complete by the middle of 2022. Kirovsky District, Novosibirsk
Kirovsky District (russian: Кировский район) is an administrative district (raion), one of the 10 raions of Novosibirsk, Russia. It is located on the left bank of the Ob River. The area of the district is 50,7 km2 (19,6 sq mi). Population: 186,408 (2018 Census). History Until 1930, the territory of the Kirovsky and Leninsky city districts was part of the Bugrinsky District of the Novosibirsk Okrug. In 1930, it was decided to build large plants on the left bank of the Ob River and the railway line from the Tolmachyovo Station to the mines of Kuzbass. October 20, 1930, Zaobsky District was formed. December 2, 1934, Zaobsky District was renamed the Kirovsky District. In December 1970, part of the Kirovsky City District became the Leninsky City District. Leninskaya Line
Leninskaya Line (), is a line of the Novosibirsk Metro. It consists of eight stations over of track. It bisects the city on a northwest–southeast axis before making a 90 degree turn and crossing the river Ob river on a closed bridge. Leninskaya was the first line of the Metro and opened in 1986 with five stations. It expanded twice, in 1991 and 1992, adding three stations before financial difficulties slowed the development of new stations. Novosibirsk Metro is a rapid transit system that serves Novosibirsk, Russia. The system consists of over track on two lines with 13 stations. It opened in January 1986, becoming the eleventh Metro in the USSR and the fourth in RSFSR. According to 2017 statistics, it is the third-busiest system in Russia behind Moscow and Saint Petersburg. History Plans for a rapid transit system began to be formed in 1962. Construction project was approved by Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union in November 1978, and on 12 May 1979 the first construction works began. With wide experience in metro construction from the other metros of the USSR, it took seven-and-a-half years to complete work on the five-station launch stage of the system.
