Sportiva Nervi
Sportiva Nervi is an Italian water polo club from Nervi (Genoa) in Liguria founded in 1932. History Sportiva Nervi was founded in 1932 as Dopolavoro Caprafico. The men's team of Sportiva Nervi competed for the first time in Serie A from the season 1957. The club competed in Serie A until 1963. In those years, athletes of great technical value play in the Sportiva Nervi such as goalkeeper Dante Rossi, who participated at 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, winning the gold medal with the Italy men's national water polo team. The club achieved its best results in Serie A from 1967 to 1969, obtaining 3 consecutive runners-up behind the Pro Recco. Nervi
Nervi is a former fishing village 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Portofino on the Riviera di Levante, now a seaside resort in Liguria, in northwest Italy. Once an independent ''comune'', it is now a ''quartiere'' of Genoa. Nervi is 4 miles (7 km) east of central Genoa. Geography Nervi is a district of Genoa. Merrill Moses
Merrill M. Moses (born August 13, 1977) is a United States Olympic silver medalist, three-time Olympian, and three-time Pan American Games gold medalist water polo goalkeeper. He played college water polo for Pepperdine University, where he was an All-American and helped lead the team to the 1997 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship. Moses is now Associate Head Coach in water polo at Pepperdine. Early and personal life Moses was born in Harbor City, California, to Max, an orthopedic surgeon, and Marlene Moses. He is Jewish. Milivoj Bebić
Milivoj Bebić (born 29 August 1959) is a retired Croatian water polo player. He won a silver Olympic gold medal winner with Yugoslavia at the 1980 Summer Olympics and a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He was a former waterpolo player of the POŠK team of Split (Croatia) and, in Italy, of the Ortigia in Siracusa and Volturno Sporting Club of Santa Maria Capua Vetere (where he also worked as coach, during the '90s). At the age of ten, Milivoj Bebić joined the Pošk water polo club. A prodigy almost from the start, he was asked to join the Yugoslavian national team at the age of 17. Coppa Italia (men's Water Polo)
The men's Coppa Italia is the water polo domestic Cup of Italy. The trophy is organized by FIN and reserved to Serie A1 teams. The first edition took place in 1970 and the most successful club is Pro Recco, winner of the competition for 16 times. History and format The first edition of the trophy was held in 1970 and was won by Canottieri Napoli. Later, Coppa Italia was held discontinuously except for a nine-years streak of back-to-back seasons between 1984–85 and 1992–93. The trophy was resumed regularly starting from 2004–05 season. Since this last inception, the most successful team has been Pro Recco, which won the Cup for 13 times out of 15 editions.
