Botafogo Sport Club, commonly known as Botafogo, is a Brazilian football club based in Salvador, Bahia state. They won the Campeonato Baiano seven times. History The club was founded on August 14, 1919. They won the Campeonato Baiano in 1919, 1922, 1923, 1926, 1930, 1935, and in 1938. The club participated in the Taça de Prata in 1980, when it finished in 62nd among 64 clubs. The club closed its football department in 1990, but reopened it in 2011 to compete in the Campeonato Baiano Second Level, when they were eliminated in the First Stage of the competition. The first game after their return was played on April 10, 2011, and the club was defeated 3–0 by Ypiranga. Stadium Since the club reopened its activities in 2011, they play their home games at Estádio Roberto Santos, located in Pituaçu neighborhood, Salvador. Esporte Clube Ypiranga is a football team of Salvador, Bahia. Its colours are yellow and black. With 10 titles of the Campeonato Baiano, it has the third-most titles in the Bahia state championship, coming behind Vitória and Bahia, with 27 and 45 titles, respectively. History Esporte Clube Ypiranga was founded on 7 September 1906, originating itself from ''Sport Club Sete de Setembro'', founded on 17 April 1904. it is one of the oldest football teams in Bahia. The team participated in the Campeonato Baiano for the first time in 1914, finishing in third place. Eventually, the team won its first title in 1917, finishing the championship without losing a match. After that, the team won another nine titles, the latest of them in 1951. The Campeonato Baiano Second Division are the second tier level of the football tournaments for the Bahia state league. The competitions are organized by the Bahia Football Federation. Usually, the champions of a division are promoted in the next year to the immediately upper level. History The Second Level of the Bahia State Championship is competed since 1922, and was not held from 1924 to 1934, in 1938, from 1942 to 1964, in 1966, in 1969, in 1970, from 1972 to 1974, from 1976 to 1980 and in 2005. The 1980 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, officially, the Taça de Prata 1980, was the 3rd edition of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The championship was performed by 64 clubs, divided into 8 groups of 8 teams each, in which the first-placed team of each group proceeded to a playoff in which the winners would be promoted to the Second phase of the Copa Brasil of the same year. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B is commonly referred to as the Brasileirão Série B (Série B), and until 2022 was officially called Brasileirão Sportingbet by sponsorship reasons.
