Spooked (album)
''Spooked'' is the fourteenth studio album by Robyn Hitchcock. It was recorded in collaboration with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings at Woodlands Studio in Nashville, TN in 2004, and released later that year. The set comprises twelve new recordings, all Hitchcock compositions with the exception of " Tryin' to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door", a cover of a Bob Dylan song. The tracks revisit Hitchcock's 1980s style, containing in their lyrics portrayals of several eccentric characters, surreal situations and scenarios, and several references to death, one of Hitchcock's most enduring themes. The packaging too is retrospective, its green and yellow packaging falling in line with previous solo-acoustic albums such as '' Eye'' and '' Moss Elixir''. The painting on the front is a detail from one of Hitchcock's own, featuring an enlarged cat-like creature looming from behind a wall. "Spooked" is the second episode of the NBC horror anthology '' Fear Itself''. Plot Eric Roberts plays Harry Siegal, a police detective attempting to locate a kidnapped child. Harry finds Rory, the man he believes is responsible and viciously beats a confession out of him. It soon becomes clear that this is not unusual behavior for Harry; he believes his methods are justified in pursuit of a greater good. Rory begs for his life, especially after Harry cuts his throat. Rory eventually gives in, confessing. then faints. Harry locates the boy in a closet. Outside, Rory is being loaded into an ambulance. The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a former sanatorium located in the Waverly Hills neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It opened in 1910 as a two-story hospital to accommodate 40 to 50 tuberculosis patients. In the early 1900s, Jefferson County was ravaged by an outbreak of tuberculosis – known as the "White Plague" – which prompted the construction of a new hospital. The hospital closed in 1961, due to the antibiotic drug streptomycin that lowered the need for such a hospital. There were original plans to turn the abandoned hospital into a hotel, but that is no longer the case. History The land that is known today as "Waverly Hill" was purchased by Major Thomas H.
