Spjelkavik
Spjelkavik is a borough in the town of Ålesund in Ålesund Municipality, Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is also called ''"Vika"'' by many locals. Spjelkavik is located on the western end of the island of Uksenøya, at the intersection of the European route E39 and European route E136 highways, just west of the lake Brusdalsvatnet. The villages of Breivika, Myrland, and Løvika lie to the south of Spjelkavik. The population of Spjelkavik is approximately 11,000 inhabitants and is the second largest part of the city. It is also one of areas that grows the quickest in Ålesund. The distance from the city center of Ålesund to Spjelkavik is about . Spjelkavik has one of Norway's biggest malls (in the area called ''Moa'') and the Spjelkavik branch of the Ålesund public library. Spjelkavik Church
Spjelkavik Church ( no, Spjelkavik kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Spjelkavik on the western end of the island of Uksenøya. It is the church for the Spjelkavik parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The brick church was built in a hexagonal design in 1987 using plans drawn up by the architect Alf Apalseth. The church seats about 500 people. Møre og Romsdal (; en, Møre and Romsdal) is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Innlandet, and Vestland. European route E39 is the designation of a north–south road in Norway and Denmark from Klett, just south of Trondheim, to Aalborg via Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. Ålesund Airport ( nn, Ålesund lufthamn, ), or alternatively Ålesund Vigra Airport, is an international airport serving the town of Ålesund in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located on the island of Vigra in Giske Municipality and features a runway aligned 07/25. The airport served 1,077,209 passengers in 2013, making it the tenth-busiest airport in the country. Vigra (island)
Vigra is an island in Giske Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located north of the islands of Valderøya and Giske, west of the mainland of Haram Municipality, and southwest of the island of Lepsøya (in Haram). Vigra has a road connection to the mainland via the Vigra Fixed Link, a series of tunnels and bridges that connect all the islands of Giske Municipality to the city of Ålesund to the south. The island was formerly part of Vigra Municipality. The island is fairly flat and barren, although most land has been converted to agricultural uses. The highest point is the tall Molnesfjellet on the north end of the island.
