Spitalfields Sculpture Prize
The Spitalfields Sculpture Prize is a £45,000 commission for a new public work to be sited in Bishops Square in the Spitalfields area of London. It is projected that it will be seen by more than 70,000 people a week. The winning sculpture will become a permanent part of the Spitalfields Public Art Collection and go on display in October 2010. Spitalfields is a district in the East End of London and within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The area is formed around Commercial Street (on the A1202 London Inner Ring Road) and includes the locale around Brick Lane, Christ Church, Toynbee Hall and Commercial Tavern. It has several markets, including Spitalfields Market, the historic Old Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane Market and Petticoat Lane Market. It was part of the ancient parish of Stepney in the county of Middlesex and was split off as a separate parish in 1729. Just outside the City of London, the parish became part of the Metropolitan Board of Works area in 1855 as part of the Whitechapel District. It formed part of the County of London from 1889 and was part of the Metropolitan Borough of Stepney from 1900. It was abolished as a civil parish in 1921. Cinimod Studio
Cinimod Studio is a London-based experiential agency involved in various architecture and lighting design projects. Projects undertaken typically involve a wide mix of media and technologies, and often involve interactive design. Beginnings In 2007 architect Dominic Harris founded Cinimod Studio. He had trained at the Bartlett School of Architecture and worked for many years with architecture firms Future Systems and Softroom, and for the interactive design firm Jason Bruges Studio. The Studio Cinimod Studio operates from a Notting Hill studio. Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva
Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva (born 1971, Kavadarci, North Macedonia) is a Macedonian-born artist based in Brighton, UK. She has exhibited extensively and realised numerous commissions nationally and internationally, in gallery spaces, museums and within the public realm. Hadzi-Vasileva was selected by the Ministry of Culture to represent Macedonia at the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013, with Ana Frangovska, curator at the National Gallery of Macedonia. Nick Hornby (born 1980) is a British artist. He received his education at the Slade School of Art, University College London and Chelsea School of Art, a constituent college of the University of the Arts London. Hornby's work is known for his art-historical references and use of digital technology.
