Spinohirasea
''Spinohirasea'' is currently a monotypic genus of stick insects in the tribe Necrosciini, erected by Zompro in 2002. To date (2022) the sole species has been recorded from Vietnam. Species The ''Phasmida Species File'' currently only includes ''Spinohirasea bengalensis'' (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907): with the genus name described as ''S. crassithorax'' Zompro, 2002 and the species name from ''Menexenus bengalensis'', described by Carl Brunner von Wattenwyl. The type specimens were found in Dy Thuong village, Hà Tĩnh province. Necrosciinae is a subfamily of the stick insect family Lonchodidae, with its greatest diversity in South-East Asia. The subfamilies Necrosciinae and Lonchodinae, formerly part of Diapheromeridae, were determined to make up a separate family and were transferred to the re-established family Lonchodidae in 2018. Carl Brunner von Wattenwyl (13 June 1823, Bern – 24 August 1914, Kirchdorf) was a Swiss entomologist who specialised in Orthoptera, and a botanist. Von Wattenwyl was a postmaster.
