Carlo Speroni
Carlo Speroni (13 July 1895 – 12 October 1969) was an Italian long-distance runner. Biography Speroni began competing at the age of 15 and took part in the 1912, 1920 and 1924 Summer Olympics. Nationally he won 12 titles: in the 5000 m (1920, 1921), 10,000 m (1914, 1920, 1921, 1924, 1925), half marathon (1912–1914) and cross country running (1913, 1915). In 1913 he set the Italian record over six miles that stood for 17 years. In 1936 he became a masseur for the Pro Patria Calcio club, where he worked for 30 years. In 1971 the stadium Stadio Carlo Speroni was named after him. Francesco Speroni
Francesco Enrico Speroni (born 4 October 1946, in Busto Arsizio) is an Italian politician. Career Speroni has been flight engineer from 1970 to 1997, remaining on leave since 1989. A member of the Northern League, Speroni has been a Member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 1994, a Senator from 1992 to 1999 and again an MEP from 1999 to 2014. He served as Minister for Institutional Reforms in first Berlusconi government, from 1994 to 1995. As MEP, he co-chaired the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group from 2009 to 2014. He sat also on the European Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs and has been a substitute for the Committee on Foreign Affairs and a member of the Delegation to the EU-Mexico Joint Parliamentary Committee. Julián Speroni
Julián Maria Speroni (; born 18 May 1979) is an Argentine former professional footballer. Having started his career at Platense, he played three seasons in the Scottish Premier League with Dundee before joining Crystal Palace for £750,000 in 2004. His first three seasons at Selhurst Park saw him largely play understudy to Gábor Király who made the goalkeeping spot his own. This was until the Hungarian departed Selhurst Park at the end of the 2006–07 season. Back in the line-up Speroni flourished and won his reputation back. He went on to play 405 matches across all competitions for the club. On 9 May 2019, it was announced that Speroni would leave Crystal Palace at the end of the 2018–19 season. Remo Germani, the stage name of Remo Speroni, (31 May 1938 – 18 October 2010) was an Italian singer and occasional actor, mainly successful in the 1960s. Life and career He was born in Milan. While employed as a bank teller in 1957, Germani started performing as a singer in his spare time. Put under contract by the record company Jolly, in 1962 he got his first success, "Baci". In 1963 he ranked third on the Italian hit parade with the song "Non andare col tamburo". Between 1964 and 1967 he participated to four editions of the Sanremo Music Festival and appeared in a few Musicarello films. In 1978 he moved to Vigevano, where he founded Radio City Ducale. From the 1980s he was active as the leader of a dance orchestra. In his later years he developed diabetes. Sperone Speroni degli Alvarotti (1500–1588) was an Italian Renaissance humanist, scholar and dramatist. Biography Born April 12, 1500 in Padua, Sperone was the second child of Bernardino Speroni degli Alvarotti and Lucia Contarini. In 1518 he obtained the ''artibus'' degree from the University of Padua and joined the Guild (''Sacro Collegio'') of artists and physicians. He lectured on philosophy at Padua, under the Chair of Logic. He interrupted his teachings to study at Bologna under Pietro Pomponazzi but, after Pietro's death, returned to Padua where he obtained an Extraordinary Chair of Philosophy, a post he held for another three years.
