Hamar Olympic Hall
Vikingskipet ("The Viking Ship"), officially known as Hamar Olympic Hall ( no, Hamar olympiahall), is an indoor Multi-purpose stadium, multi-use sport and event venue in Hamar, Norway. It was built as the speed skating rink for the 1994 Winter Olympics, and has since also hosted events and tournaments in ice speedway, rallying, rally, association football, bandy, ice sledge speed racing, flying disc and track cycling. The arena is also used for concerts, trade fair and the annual computer party The Gathering (computer party), The Gathering. It is the home arena of Hamar IL bandy team. The venue is owned by Hamar Municipality, and along with Hamar Olympic Amphitheatre is run by the municipal Hamar Olympiske Anlegg. Vikingskipet has a capacity for 10,600 spectators during sporting events and 20,000 during concerts. The arena was designed by Niels Torp, and Biong & Biong, and opened on 19 December 1992. The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines, including figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. It was founded in Scheveningen, Netherlands, in July 1892, making it one of the oldest international sport federations. ISU Junior World Cup
The ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating is a series of international long track speed skating matches, organised yearly by the International Skating Union. It is the second most important competition for juniors, behind the World Junior Speed Skating Championships. The format is comparable to the ISU Speed Skating World Cup, but only junior skaters (up until the season they turn 19) are allowed to enter. Starting in the 2016–17 season, a competition for "neo-seniors" was added. The first edition was held in the 2008–09 season with competition in five distances for both men (boys) and ladies (girls). The 500, 1000, 1500 and team pursuit were run for both sexes and while the ladies had a competition over 3000 meters, the men had a competition over the combined 3000 and 5000 meters.
